This role is responsible for strengthening cost control, planning, scheduling, and performance management across complex projects. You will provide project teams and leadership with the analysis, forecasting, reporting, and controls needed to support informed decisions. The position combines technical project controls expertise with opportunities to lead teams, improve processes, and resolve complex delivery challenges. You will collaborate closely with clients, project managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to maintain visibility into project performance. The role also involves developing practical control systems tailored to project requirements and maintaining reliable planning and forecasting processes. It is well suited to an experienced project controls professional who can operate independently while providing guidance to others. This is a remote opportunity offering exposure to technically demanding projects and a broad range of project management responsibilities.
Accountabilities
- Develop, establish, and maintain cost control and/or planning and scheduling processes for large, complex projects.
- Provide guidance and specialized support for resolving challenging project controls issues and performance concerns.
- Work directly with clients and participate in regular project meetings, providing clear statistical reports and performance updates.
- Develop project control tools and reporting mechanisms that give project and company leadership visibility into cost, schedule, and performance.
- Develop and maintain work breakdown structures in collaboration with affected departments and project stakeholders.
- Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report schedule performance against established baselines.
- Analyze project costs and performance, identify variances, and develop forecasts to support effective project decision-making.
- Maintain systems that clearly demonstrate the hierarchy and relationships between project plans and schedules.
- Customize project control systems and processes to address specific project requirements.
- Collect and evaluate historical project performance data to improve future planning, forecasting, and project controls.
- Assess the potential impact of design or construction changes, schedule delays, and other project developments.
- Coordinate staffing requirements, assign project activities, supervise work, and support the training and development of assigned personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to the professional development of team members.
- Take on additional project controls and project management responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of relevant project controls, project management, engineering, construction, or related experience.
- Working knowledge of engineering principles, particularly in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of cost control, planning, scheduling, forecasting, performance analysis, and project reporting.
- Proficiency with project controls software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with established industry practices, project control methodologies, and tools.
- Ability to analyze complex project information, identify risks or variances, and develop practical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present project information clearly to clients, management, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a demanding project environment.
- Demonstrated potential to operate in a leadership capacity, including coordinating work and supporting the development of other personnel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, project teams, management, and other stakeholders.
- Must be a U.S. Person.

- Salary range of $74,800–$130,900 per year.
