The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Construction Project Manager based in United States.

This is a senior project leadership opportunity for an experienced construction professional who can oversee complex projects from early planning through final closeout. You will lead design, construction, permitting, occupancy, quality, staffing, scheduling, and financial management while keeping client priorities at the center of execution. The role combines strategic project leadership with hands-on team development, stakeholder management, and operational oversight. You will guide project teams, strengthen client relationships, and drive consistent delivery against quality, schedule, budget, and business objectives. You will also contribute to business development and regional market growth through strong relationships with clients, public agencies, educational institutions, and industry partners. The position offers significant influence across concurrent projects and the opportunity to mentor developing project professionals. It is ideal for a proactive, strategic, and client-focused leader who thrives in complex environments and is motivated by continuous improvement.

Accountabilities

  • Lead all phases of construction and capital improvement projects, including design, construction, permitting, occupancy, quality control, staffing, scheduling, closeout, and budget management.
  • Partner with senior leadership to define project scope, objectives, success metrics, priorities, and execution strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate designers, contractors, vendors, user groups, executives, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.
  • Manage and mentor approximately 5–10 project team members across concurrent initiatives, providing coaching, performance guidance, resource allocation, and professional development.
  • Establish client-focused communication strategies that maintain transparency, strengthen engagement, and proactively address project concerns.
  • Facilitate high-impact meetings and influence decision-making across client, design, construction, executive, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance against KPIs, schedules, budgets, contracts, quality standards, and service-level expectations, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Oversee contract management, financial performance, expenditures, and budget controls while ensuring compliance with client agreements.
  • Manage project documentation, responsibilities, deliverables, milestones, procurement activities, furniture acquisition, relocation processes, and related workflows.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices that improve efficiency, scalability, sustainability, and client experience.
  • Deliver projects and client solutions contributing to approximately $1M–$3M in annual revenue while maintaining alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, public agencies, K-12 and higher education institutions, community stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Support business development by defending existing relationships, reengaging dormant accounts, expanding current opportunities, and identifying new prospects.
  • Maintain an active presence within the Triad and broader North Carolina market through client engagement, industry participation, and community relationships.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, learning, and high-performance delivery.
  • Typically 10+ years of project management experience with exposure to multiple large, complex, and unique projects.
  • Expert-level construction project management capabilities, including experience overseeing projects across multiple phases and disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, coaching, and developing project teams.
  • Strong client engagement skills and a proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to identify root causes, evaluate potential solutions, assess ROI and risk, and make sound recommendations.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, meeting facilitation, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation and commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining quality, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, self-motivated approach with the confidence and agility to navigate complex and changing project environments.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire teamwork while also operating effectively as an individual contributor.
  • Strong technology skills and willingness to adopt emerging tools and innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to support business growth through client relationship development, strategic engagement, and identification of new opportunities.
  • Experience supporting K-12, higher education, public sector, or capital improvement programs is preferred.
  • Established relationships within the Triad or broader North Carolina market are preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain an active local presence for project, client, industry, and community activities.
  • Full-time, remote position based in the United States.
  • Senior-level ownership across complex construction and capital improvement projects.
  • Opportunity to lead and develop a team of project management professionals.
  • Significant client-facing responsibility and exposure to senior stakeholders.
  • Opportunity to work with public agencies, educational institutions, community organizations, and industry partners.
  • Ability to contribute directly to projects generating approximately $1M–$3M in annual revenue.
  • Strong exposure to strategic project leadership, financial management, procurement, business development, and operational improvement.
  • Opportunity to influence regional growth and build long-term client and industry relationships.
  • Collaborative environment focused on professional development, continuous learning, and high-quality client delivery.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
