We're seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Lead to join our West Moreton Residential AOD Treatment Service in Ipswich. Commencing in December 2026, this role includes a handover period and an opportunity to provide clinical leadership across both our residential rehabilitation and withdrawal services. You'll be joining a dynamic, high-performing multidisciplinary team with a strong culture of collaboration, support and continuous improvement, all focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for the people we support. About the Role As the Clinical Nurse Lead, you will provide advanced clinical nursing practice, leadership and support to a team of nurses working across both the residential rehabilitation and withdrawal units, while contributing directly to client care. Working across both services, you will undertake clinical assessments, coordinate treatment and care planning, oversee medication management, coordinate rostering and workforce planning, and contribute to continuous quality improvement to ensure safe, effective and person-centred service delivery. Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, mentoring and clinical support to nursing staff. Coordinate nursing rosters and workforce planning to support safe and effective service delivery across both the residential rehabilitation and withdrawal units. Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to a team of nurses, fostering a collaborative, culturally safe and high-performing clinical team. Conduct comprehensive health assessments and nursing interventions. Support medication management, governance and clinical documentation. Deliver evidence-based care to clients experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges. Develop and review treatment and recovery plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Build and maintain strong relationships with GPs, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and external health services. Participate in quality improvement, clinical governance and service development initiatives. Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting requirements. Support intake, admissions and transitions into residential treatment services. Contribute to a safe, therapeutic and recovery-oriented treatment environment.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA. Demonstrated leadership, supervision or mentoring experience within a clinical environment. Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and risk management skills. A genuine interest in supporting people experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and people from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong administrative and clinical documentation skills. A commitment to person-centred, recovery-oriented care. A current Australian Driver Licence.
Highly Regarded
Experience in Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) services. Knowledge of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice. Experience within residential, community or withdrawal management settings. Postgraduate qualifications in nursing or a related field.
