About Us
Wonka helps companies adopt AI for their business. With Wonka, teams can easily integrate AI and solve their day-to-day problems. We have worked with more than 200 companies and are currently serving thousands of users every day on our AI adoption platform. We are a small team of 30+ passionate people, driven by the mission to help non-technical people surf the AI wave. Together with Buildwise, we build and run an AI platform used every day across the Belgian construction sector.
About the Role
As Business Analyst on our AI platform for the construction sector, you will own the functional and product side of a live platform. You sit between the users and the developers: you gather insights and adoption signals directly from end users, turn them into clear functional analyses and hand dev-ready tickets to the team. This is not a back-office role. You will be in touch with end users every week, so reading people well matters as much as analytical rigor.
What You Will Do
- Run user testing sessions with the platform's end users and capture what you learn.
- Gather and log feature requests, and review them with the client's business analyst, scoring each one on user insight and priority.
- Write functional analyses for new features and changes: context, scope, current and target situation, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate those analyses into tickets for the developers: user stories, acceptance criteria and bug reports.
- Be the day-to-day functional contact for the product owner and business analyst on the client side.
- Support adoption: track usage and friction points, and work with a trained group of end users who give structured feedback.
What a Typical Work Week Looks Like
- Monday: You run a user testing session with construction professionals using the platform and note where they get stuck.
- Tuesday: You review the logged feature requests with the client's business analyst and score them by user insight and priority.
- Wednesday: You write the functional analysis for the highest-scoring request, from the current situation to the target situation and acceptance criteria.
- Thursday: You turn that analysis into user stories and acceptance criteria, and sync with the technical team on scope and feasibility.
- Friday: You go through the latest usage data and the input from the end-user feedback group, and end your week by sharing your wins with the whole Wonka team.
What You Will Bring
Core Competencies
- At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, functional analysis or a similar role.
- Experience writing functional analyses and gathering user insights.
- Experience working directly with end users and driving the adoption of a tool or platform.
- Real comfort with people: you enjoy talking to users, read emotions well and build trust quickly. Construction is a human industry, so emotional intelligence matters as much as analytical skill.
- Fluency in French, Dutch and English. All internal communications at Wonka are in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Odoo.
- Experience with prompt iteration or prompt version management, for example in Langfuse.
Note on fit: If you meet most of the must-haves and are genuinely excited about the rest, apply. Research consistently finds that people, especially women, pass on roles they would do well in because a requirements list reads like a checklist. This role is also a strong next step if you are a functional analyst or product owner who wants to work closer to users and AI.
How We Work
You will join a small team, with an experienced CTO and dev team you work with every day, and a buddy who helps you ramp up from day one. You have a seat at the table on product decisions from the start. Because we work with our client on an outcome basis, the focus stays on real impact rather than on ticket volume. You will work hybrid, with 2 to 3 days a week on site.
In exchange, you will learn the full product lifecycle from the inside: how a functional analysis turns into a shipped feature, structured prioritization methods such as user-insight scoring and the Double Diamond, and stakeholder management across a client product owner, a client business analyst, an internal dev team and sector partners. After 6 to 12 months, you will be able to run a product's functional side end to end.
