Job Description
Supervise and direct employees responsible for SEC and financial reporting activities. Coordinate and support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, disclosures and related supporting documentation. Think strategically about the organization and presentation of financial information to clearly communicate key messages and business context beyond required disclosures. Partner with management in researching and evaluating new and emerging accounting standards and technical accounting matters, including documenting accounting conclusions and implementing new requirements. Work with internal and external auditors, including benefit plan and other financial audits, to coordinate requests, address questions, and support audit activities and deliverables. Provide day-to-day technical guidance to the team, review work for accuracy and completeness, coordinate reporting timelines and deliverables, and coach and develop employees.

- Oversee, direct, and/or perform duties related to the preparation of information and reports which may include but not limited to:Accounting reports Budget preparation Forecasting Variance reporting Expenditure audits Capital project approvals Closing job orders and completion reports General ledger account reconciliations VEBA trust reconciliations Proxy tables Benefit vendor payments Benefit plan budgets Monitor payroll funding Generate payroll costing reports Annual and monthly variance analysis Budget compilation and presentation
- Provide guidance and direction relative to Accounting, HR Accounting, Property Accounting, Billing Control, Tax, Accounts Payable, Credit Cards, and Financial Reporting processes to employees, supervisors, management, industry peers and others.
- Perform calculations, review, analyze, interpret, and/or monitor information and reports including but not limited to:Government reports SEC/IRS/FASB guidance Payroll reports Training analysis Budgets Policies and procedures revisions and recommendations Projections/forecasts Variances Overheads Allocations (Payroll/General Corporate) Accounting reports
- Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
- Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
Preferred Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, other related field or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job related experience:
Experience
- In addition to education, this role typically calls for seven to ten years of relevant experience (Minimum of five years’ relevant experience is required). Previous leadership experience is not required.
- Thorough knowledge and experience administering and interpreting of policies and procedures related to accounting methods, practices, procedures, budgeting, payroll and/or tax.
- Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including using computer applications such as Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
- Application of math, algebra and basic statistics.
- Experience training, directing, and supervising; demonstrated ability to apply personnel policies and procedures.
- Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, budgets, governmental rules and regulations, contracts, correspondence, and account information.
- Experience researching, composing, and preparing reports, budgets, financial information, and correspondence.
- Experience leading, directing, and/or supervising; interacting, advising, training, and communicating effectively.
- Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals.
- Knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Licenses and Certifications
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Preferred CPA, CFA, CTP, or other relevant Certification
Additional Requirements
- Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.
- Communicate and/or exchange verbal and written information and instructions; conduct oral presentations.
- Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
- Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
