Join our Long Island office in Lake Success and enjoy working directly with an experienced, collaborative legal team in a professional environment.

Note

Candidates must have 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, including supporting New York State litigation, preparing discovery documents, and using NYSCEF for electronic court filings. Experience in medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, or healthcare litigation is highly preferred.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Malpractice Defense Paralegal to join our growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful cases while supporting attorneys who represent healthcare professionals and organizations.

  • Support attorneys throughout all stages of medical malpractice defense litigation.
  • Prepare, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
  • Manage electronic court filings through NYSCEF and track important litigation deadlines.
  • Review, organize, and summarize medical records, treatment histories, and case documentation.
  • Assist with medical chronologies, case summaries, and litigation research.
  • Coordinate depositions, medical experts, court conferences, and case-related communications.
  • Organize discovery materials, deposition exhibits, and trial preparation documents.
  • Maintain accurate case files while helping the legal team manage multiple active matters.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Experience supporting New York State litigation and preparing discovery documents.
  • Hands-on experience using NYSCEF for electronic court filings.
  • Strong organizational, communication, proofreading, and document management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize multiple litigation matters.
  • Medical malpractice defense, personal injury defense, or healthcare litigation experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and medical chronologies is a strong plus.
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant educational background preferred.
