The posting

Role Brief

The Australian Accountant / Bookkeeper will support Juce Advisory across a portfolio of Australian clients, providing hands-on accounting, bookkeeping and compliance preparation support within a multi-client accounting practice environment.

The role combines core bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities with a strong analytical component. Beyond completing established processes, the successful candidate will be expected to investigate discrepancies, identify when something does not look right, troubleshoot issues, and provide reliable explanations or analysis back to the Juce team.

This is a primarily back-office role, with client ly releva communication managed by the onshore Juce team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Juce team, particularly Lauren for bookkeeping-related activities, while supporting the broader CFO advisory work of the business

Key Role Deliverables

  • Complete regular transaction processing and account reconciliations.
  • Support fortnightly payroll processing and related bookkeeping activities.
  • Prepare accounting and compliance work for review, including BAS and IAS.

  • Use Excel and available AI tools to support analysis, troubleshooting and efficiency.
  • Self-review work and provide reliable explanations when figures or transactions do not reconcile.
  • Support the Juce team with information and analysis required for CFO advisory engagements.
  • Work across assigned clients while collaborating with relevant Juce delivery/accounting team members.
  • Maintain accurate, organised and review-ready accounting records.
  • Work independently within established processes while escalating or questioning items that require further investigation.

Education Requirement

Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline preferred.

Relevant Australian accounting practice experience and demonstrated practical capability will be highly regarded.

Minimum Years of Experience in similar role

4-5+ years of relevant Australian accounting and/or bookkeeping experience preferred, ideally within an accounting or bookkeeping practice supporting multiple Australian clients.

Depth of practical experience and capability will be considered alongside total years of experience, particularly for candidates demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Technical System Experience

  • Xero – strong hands-on experience required.
  • Xero Practice Manager – familiarity preferred.
  • Xero Tax – familiarity advantageous.
  • Microsoft Excel – strong working capability, particularly for analysis, reconciliations and troubleshooting.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Naturally curious and willing to investigate when something does not look right.
  • Able to identify discrepancies and work through the underlying cause.
  • Strong self-review and quality-control capability.
  • Reliable and able to produce work the team can confidently rely on.
  • Comfortable working independently within established processes.
  • Able to manage work across multiple client files and competing priorities.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confident communicating findings, issues and explanations internally.
  • Comfortable asking questions and challenging information where appropriate.
  • Adaptable and comfortable supporting both routine accounting work and more analytical assignments.
  • Willing to learn Juce's clients, processes and advisory approach in depth.

Must Have Skills / Experience

  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and explain why financial information may not reconcile.
  • Strong Excel capability with confidence analysing financial information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-review work before submission.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
