This role requires the ability to translate business and customer requirements into effective technical solutions and well-modelled data products, as well as to capture insights from user interactions and maintain clear, accurate documentation.

The position demands a proven track record of building and supporting responsive web applications and batch processes using multi‑tier/layer architectures, along with comfort working in a test‑driven development environment. The successful individual will be capable of working independently across a variety of responsibilities, demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, collaborate effectively with others, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

As part of a highly skilled development team, the Lead Software Engineer creates, maintains, and continuously improves software capabilities, actively building software functionality and participating across the full delivery lifecycle. This role contributes across modern technology stacks, system integration, and software lifecycle management while working closely with the Product Owner (PO) to refine story requirements and acceptance criteria. The Lead Software Engineer actively codes, removes technical impediments, and ensures high‑quality delivery across all phases of development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, resilient applications using modern architectures and design patterns.
  • Actively contribute hands‑on code while identifying and removing technical blockers and architectural constraints.
  • Ensure all solutions follow latest coding practices, industry standards, and secure coding principles.
  • Build solutions compliant with all applicable Prudential technology, security, and governance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to refine backlog items, acceptance criteria, and delivery scope.
  • Contribute to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operational excellence to improve deployment reliability and velocity.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and lakehouse solutions in Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake) to ingest, transform, and serve investment data.
  • Implement medallion (bronze/silver/gold) data architectures with data quality checks, lineage, and governance to deliver reliable, analytics-ready data for reporting and Power BI.
  • Ensure high standards of quality through test automation, code reviews, and adherence to quality methodologies.
  • Anticipate broader project and platform risks, proactively planning mitigations and architectural improvements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior and mid‑level engineers.
  • Use strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to drive informed technical decisions across complex systems.

What you can expect:

  • Strategic Business & Technical Collaboration - Partner with senior management to analyze and execute business plans, aligning technology solutions with organizational goals.
  • Full-Stack Application Development - Design, develop, and maintain web applications, services, and batch processes using the .NET framework and SQL, ensuring high performance and scalability. Participating in Agile Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
  • Data Engineering on Microsoft Fabric - Build and operate end-to-end data solutions in Microsoft Fabric, from ingestion and transformation with Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark notebooks to curated Lakehouse and Warehouse layers that power analytics and Power BI reporting.
  • System Stability & IT Governance - Maintain a resilient and well-controlled technology environment by identifying and mitigating IT risks, adhering to company policies, and ensuring compliance with IT governance standards.
  • Third Level Production Support & Continuous Improvement - Help the production support team by providing technical support and troubleshooting production issues. Drive process improvements by incorporating new technologies and best practices to enhance business operations.

Required & Desired Skills:

  • 7+ years prior .NET development in Financial Services
  • .NET Framework 4.6.1 and up

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
