ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Instructional Designer to help shape and build engaging, practical, and scalable learning experiences within our learning management system (LMS), Docebo.

This role is an opportunity to help define not only how courses are built, but also what great learning should look like across the organization. You will work closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to transform knowledge, processes, and business needs into clear, engaging, and effective learning experiences.

The ideal candidate combines strong instructional design fundamentals with a modern approach to digital learning, including interactive content, assessments, multimedia, learner engagement, and emerging AI-powered learning tools.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

LEARNING & INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

- Design and develop engaging online courses and learning experiences using instructional design best practices.

- Translate complex information, processes, and subject matter expertise into clear, learner-friendly content.

- Apply instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, backward design, adult learning principles, and/or other relevant frameworks.

- Define learning objectives, course structures, lesson plans, assessments, activities, and learning paths.

- Design learning experiences that are practical, relevant, and connected to real-world job responsibilities.

- Develop different types of learning experiences, including microlearning, self-paced courses, knowledge checks, scenario-based learning, and interactive activities.

- Ensure content is clear, accessible, engaging, and appropriate for the target audience.

DOCEBO & COURSE DEVELOPMENT

- Build, configure, and maintain courses within the Docebo LMS.

- Organize course structures, learning paths, training materials, assessments, and learner activities.

- Explore and leverage Docebo’s content creation and AI-powered capabilities to improve the speed and quality of course development.

- Use multimedia, interactive elements, assessments, and other available tools to create engaging learning experiences.

- Evaluate existing courses and recommend improvements to content, structure, learner experience, and engagement.

- Maintain consistency in course design, instructional standards, terminology, and branding across the learning library.

Docebo currently supports AI-assisted course creation, interactive lessons, assessments, translation, voiceover, and learner data that can be used to continuously improve courses. LEARNING STRATEGY & VISION

- Help establish and evolve a vision for digital learning across the organization.

- Research emerging trends, tools, and best practices in instructional design, e-learning, AI-powered learning, and employee development.

- Identify opportunities to make learning more personalized, practical, and embedded into the learner’s workflow.

- Partner with stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into measurable learning outcomes.

- Recommend new approaches, technologies, and learning formats that can improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.

- Help develop a scalable learning framework that can grow with the organization.

COLLABORATION & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

- Partner with subject matter experts to gather, organize, validate, and transform knowledge into learning content.

- Facilitate content discovery sessions and interviews with SMEs.

- Guide SMEs on how to communicate complex topics effectively to learners.

- Manage multiple course-development projects and prioritize work based on business needs.

- Coordinate reviews, revisions, approvals, and course launches.

- Incorporate learner and stakeholder feedback into ongoing course improvements.

MEASUREMENT & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

- Monitor course engagement, completion, assessment results, and other relevant learning metrics.

- Use learner data and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

- Evaluate whether learning experiences are achieving their intended outcomes.

- Continuously iterate on courses based on learner behavior, business needs, and performance data.

- Help connect learning outcomes to broader business and workforce objectives.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 3+ years of experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, eLearning, Curriculum Development, or a related field.

- Experience designing and developing online or digital learning experiences.

- Hands-on experience with an LMS; Docebo experience is highly preferred.

- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

- Experience developing learning objectives, assessments, activities, and structured learning paths.

- Strong writing, editing, and content-organization skills.

- Ability to take complex information and turn it into simple, engaging, and actionable learning content.

- Experience working with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a remote environment.

- Curiosity about emerging technologies, AI, and their impact on learning and workforce development.

NICE TO HAVE

- Experience with Docebo Creator or other AI-powered authoring tools.

- Experience with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar e-learning authoring platforms.

- Experience creating video-based learning, microlearning, simulations, or scenario-based training.

- Experience with SCORM or other e-learning standards.

- Experience using learning analytics to improve course effectiveness.

- Experience designing AI literacy, technology, or professional skills training.

- Experience developing role-based or personalized learning experiences.

- Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG.

- Experience working in a fast-paced, technology-driven, or startup environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In this role, success means building learning experiences that people actually want to complete and can apply to their work.

You will help move the organization beyond simply creating courses toward a more intentional learning ecosystem—one that is practical, engaging, personalized, measurable, and aligned with business needs.

You will also play an important role in exploring how AI can accelerate content development while maintaining strong instructional design, human judgment, and learning quality.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
