Mechanical Assembler – 1st Shift

Location: Ashland, VA Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay: Up to $24.00/hr (Depending on Experience) Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Foley, AL. This position is responsible for assembling mechanical components for overhead cranes and hoists and assisting the Sub-Assembly and Assembly Departments with mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical components for overhead cranes and hoists
  • Assemble components such as bearings and couplings on shafts
  • Use basic hand tools to fabricate, assemble, and install components
  • Read and interpret shop drawings
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Apply basic mechanical knowledge to assembly tasks
  • Work safely in a heavy industrial environment
  • Maintain reliable attendance and arrive to work on time each day
  • Work 10-hour shifts and Saturdays as required
  • Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on assembly experience
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings
  • Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
