About SD Worx

SD Worx is a leading European provider of Payroll & HR services with global reach. We have offices across Europe and in Mauritius. Our purpose is to bring people solutions to life, enabling organisations of all sizes to turn Human Resources into a source of value for both the business and its people.

Our people solutions cover the entire employee journey – from getting people paid to attracting, rewarding and developing talent.

About the role:

As a Junior Buyer – Procurement Excellence, you support the Procurement team with fact-based analyses, supplier insights and practical execution across the group.

The role combines Procurement Excellence activities with operational buying. You analyse spend and supplier data, improve visibility, identify opportunities across all procurement domains and help colleagues turn insights into concrete actions.

You also manage smaller purchases (up to 100k€) and sourcing activities independently, while supporting Category Managers and other Procurement colleagues on broader initiatives.

The role is designed as a development path towards a Category Manager position. Through exposure to different categories, analytical work and smaller sourcing projects, you will build the skills and experience needed to take on broader category ownership over time.

Scope

The role works across the full procurement portfolio and is not limited to one category. Typical areas include:

  • Group-wide spend and supplier analysis
  • Supplier segmentation and supplier management support
  • Identification of savings, consolidation and standardisation opportunities
  • Procurement reporting, dashboards and data quality
  • Support for category and sourcing initiatives across all domains
  • Execution of smaller purchases, RFQs and renewals

Which tasks can you expect?

1. Spend and Supplier Analysis

  • Analyse spend across entities, countries, suppliers and categories.
  • Prepare clear reports and dashboards that help the team set priorities.
  • Improve data quality, supplier classification and spend visibility.
  • Highlight fragmentation, price differences, unmanaged spend and unusual trends.

2. Opportunity Identification

  • Identify savings, supplier consolidation, standardisation and demand-management opportunities.
  • Look for synergies across the group and across all procurement domains.
  • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations and action lists.
  • Support Category Managers in validating and prioritising opportunities.

3. Supplier Management Support

  • Support supplier segmentation and the preparation of supplier reviews.
  • Track supplier performance, spend development, renewals and commercial actions.
  • Maintain supplier and contract information and flag risks or gaps.
  • Help prepare negotiations using spend, pricing and performance insights.

4. Procurement Excellence and Team Support

  • Support Procurement reporting, savings tracking and pipeline management.
  • Develop reusable analyses, templates and working methods for the team.
  • Follow up on actions and help colleagues turn identified opportunities into results.
  • Contribute to process improvements, governance and better use of procurement data.

5. Smaller Purchases and Sourcing

  • Manage smaller purchases, RFQs and renewals independently across different categories.
  • Collect requirements, compare quotations and negotiate commercial terms.
  • Support supplier selection, onboarding and contract implementation.
  • Ensure Procurement is involved before commercial commitments are made.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Category Managers, Finance, Legal and business stakeholders.
  • Present analytical findings in a clear and practical way.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc analytical and commercial support to the Procurement team.

What do you have to offer?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Procurement, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Approximately 1–3 years of relevant procurement, purchasing, finance or analytical experience, or a strong graduate profile.
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with spend, supplier and pricing data.
  • Good knowledge of Excel; experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of SAP is required.
  • Curious and able to identify patterns, issues and commercial opportunities.
  • Commercial mindset and willingness to negotiate smaller purchases.
  • Structured, accurate and able to manage several analyses and sourcing activities at the same time.
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English; additional European languages are an advantage.

What Success Looks Like

  • After developing in the role, the Junior Buyer should be able to:
  • Provide reliable spend and supplier insights across the group.
  • Identify and quantify concrete opportunities across procurement domains.
  • Support supplier management with accurate data and structured follow-up.
  • Create useful dashboards and reports that help the team make decisions.
  • Independently manage smaller purchases, RFQs and renewals.
  • Track opportunities, savings and actions from identification through implementation.
  • Become a trusted analytical and operational partner for the Procurement team.
  • Build the knowledge, commercial skills and stakeholder experience required to progress into a Category Manager role.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
