About the Job
Every Slide appliance, from compact miniPCs to rackmount systems, has to reach MSP partners on time, intact, and fully compliant, wherever they are in the world. We're hiring a Logistics Lead to own our domestic and international shipping operations end to end. This is a senior individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership of Slide’s logistics function. You'll set the processes, own the compliance picture, and stay hands-on with outbound fulfillment, carrier management, and inventory flow. We're looking for someone with deep experience in international shipping who knows the rules, regulations, and paperwork cold, and who can build a logistics function that scales as Slide grows.
Responsibilities
- Own all outbound shipping operations for finished systems and RMAs, domestic and international
- Serve as the in-house expert on international shipping rules and regulations: Incoterms, HS classification, export controls, and country-specific import requirements
- Own the accuracy and compliance of customs documentation,, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, export declarations - and maintain logistics processes designed to comply with applicable U.S. export requirements, including EAR and OFAC screening
- Manage carrier relationships and rate negotiations across UPS, FedEx, DHL, and freight partners; own WorldShip/WorldPort workflows and carrier account administration
- Coordinate freight, palletized shipments, LTL, and quarterly bulk moves; select modes and routes based on cost, timing, and destination requirements
- Resolve customs holds, delays, and carrier issues; act as primary contact with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Identify opportunities to reduce duties, taxes, and shipping costs through accurate tariff classification and applicable trade programs, partnering with external experts as needed
- Ensure accurate serial, order, and tracking linkage across shipping and inventory systems
- Set and enforce packing standards for high-value electronics to prevent damage and meet international compliance requirements
- Own processes and controls for inbound receiving, inventory intake, tagging, stock location accuracy, and cycle counts
- Maintain shipping SOPs, compliance checklists, and audit-ready records
- Work closely with hardware assembly, operations, and finance teams on shipping costs, forecasts, and deployment schedules
- Establish and track logistics KPIs, including on-time delivery, shipping cost, customs delays, damage rates, and inventory accuracy; identify trends and drive improvements.
- Identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and scale shipping and inventory workflows as order volume and international reach grow
- Train and mentor Logistics Associates; set the quality bar for the logistics function
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, freight, or supply chain operations, with substantial hands-on international shipping experience
- Strong knowledge of international shipping rules and regulations, including Incoterms, customs documentation, HS classification, and U.S. export compliance requirements
- Experience preparing commercial invoices and customs paperwork for international shipments
- Hands-on experience with UPS shipping tools and processes (WorldShip/WorldPort)
- Proven ability to manage carrier relationships, freight coordination, and bulk/ palletized moves
- Strong attention to detail and process discipline - accuracy in serial, order, and tracking data is non-negotiable
- Ability to occasionally lift and move hardware weighing up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
- Reliable communication and ownership in a small, fast-moving team
Preferred:
- Experience shipping high-value electronics or computer hardware internationally
- Familiarity with FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, and freight forwarding/3PL management
- Exposure to RMA workflows and reverse logistics
- Experience with inventory systems or ERPs
- Forklift certification
- Customs broker license or trade compliance certification (CTP, CLTD, CSCP) a plus
Work Environment
- Standard production and warehouse environment with assembly benches and test stations
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Occasional work outside of regular business hours may be required to support time-sensitive shipments, customs issues, or other logistics needs.
