ABOUT SLIDE

Based in Westport, Connecticut, Slide is a modern, security-first Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) company built exclusively for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). Founded by Austin McChord (Datto Founder & former CEO) and Michael Fass (former Datto General Counsel & Chief People Officer), Slide is led by a team of industry veterans with deep expertise in backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity. Built from scratch with a clean-room codebase and free from legacy technical debt, Slide delivers a high-performance, easy-to-use platform designed for the future of MSPs. The company combines security, speed, simplicity, and support—without outdated pricing models or restrictive contracts.

About the Job

As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a trusted technical advisor to our Sales team and prospective MSP partners, showcasing the value of Slide’s BCDR solutions. You’ll play a critical role in driving adoption of Slide's products by conducting technical demonstrations, supporting proof-of-concept (POC) deployments, and producing enablement content. Your blend of technical depth, communication skills, and strategic thinking will help bridge the gap between business needs and product capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as the primary technical resource for BCDR product sales opportunities across North America.

- Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Collaborate with Account Executives to understand partner requirements and design tailored BCDR solutions.

- Provide hands-on support during proof-of-concept trials and onboarding.

- Respond to technical RFPs, security questionnaires, and partner inquiries.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current MSP partners as a trusted advisor.

- Support trade shows, partner training sessions, and virtual/in-person webinars as a BCDR subject matter expert.

- Produce sales enablement materials such as competitive comparison guides, white papers, technical FAQs, and training decks.

- Contribute to product marketing initiatives and special projects such as go-to-market campaigns, launch documentation, and feature tutorials.

- Attend industry conferences and community events to represent Slide’s BCDR offerings and capture voice-of-partner insights.

- Stay current on product developments, industry trends, and competitive landscape in the BCDR space.

- Provide actionable feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams based on field interactions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting role—preferably in BCDR, cybersecurity, or cloud infrastructure.

- Strong understanding of backup technologies, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity architecture.

- Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN), and cloud platforms.

- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and executive-level audiences.

- Experience working with MSPs or in the managed services industry.

- Self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills.

- Willingness to travel up to 25% for partner meetings, events, and conferences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Prior experience with MSP BCDR products.

- Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and virtualization environments.

- Technical certifications such as VCP, MCSA, Network.

- Familiarity with ZFS file systems and Linux-based backup appliances.

- Experience producing sales or marketing content for technical audiences.

WHY JOIN US

- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage.

- Paid Time Off: Generous paid time off and holiday schedule.

- Retirement Plan: 401(k)

- Professional Development: Opportunities for training and professional growth.

- The opportunity to do your life's work in a dynamic and creative environment with likeminded individuals.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
