The Position
The Accountant will be an integral part of STACK APAC’s finance team based in Tokyo, Japan. The role will report to the Financial Controller and support the team in accounting, audit, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Managing the accounts payable process – creating purchase orders, reviewing and processing invoices, coordinating internal approvals, and setting up payments
- Managing the accounts receivable process – preparing customer invoices, aging reports, and tracking incoming payments
- Recording financial transactions on the company’s accounting system
- Assisting with month-end and other periodic reconciliations
- Assisting in the annual audit process
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Organizing and maintaining financial and administrative records
- Supporting the project managers in maintaining up-to-date project cost trackers and preparing budget and variance analysis
- Assisting in corporate secretarial activities for the STACK Japan entities
- Supporting preparation of income tax filings, consumption tax filings and other compliance matters for STACK Japan group entities in coordination with appointed tax agents
- Assisting the team with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of relevant prior experience
- Familiarity with JGAAP accounting standards
- Strong personal and professional integrity
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to take ownership of work and work independently, but also function within a lean team with senior professionals
- Proven record of providing both internal and external customer service
