Job Description

At Syngenta, trusted data and innovative analytics are essential to driving smarter business decisions and advancing our digital transformation.

We are seeking a Data Governance & Reporting Analyst to bridge business priorities with reliable data, scalable analytics solutions, and sustainable digital products. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence how data is governed, managed, and transformed into meaningful business insights across North America.

The position combines two equally important areas of responsibility: Data Governance & Data Products and Analytics Application Ownership & Delivery. Working collaboratively with business stakeholders, data owners, technology teams, and global partners, you will help establish effective governance practices, modernize reporting capabilities, and deliver analytics products that create measurable business value.

If you enjoy connecting people, processes, and technology to solve complex business challenges, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be able to travel to our Greensboro, North Carolina, location as needed to support business operations, meetings, and other organizational priorities.

Accountabilities

Data Governance & Data Products

  • Establish and support practical data governance frameworks, including ownership, stewardship, standards, controls, decision rights, and escalation processes.
  • Collaborate with business data owners and stewards to define critical data elements, business terminology, data quality expectations, and acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain and enhance enterprise data catalog information, including metadata, business definitions, ownership, lineage, and analytics product relationships.
  • Coordinate the prioritization and resolution of data quality issues by assessing business impact, engaging accountable teams, and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Define and manage reusable data products, including their purpose, target users, business outcomes, service expectations, adoption measures, and lifecycle requirements.
  • Promote governed data products and sustainable analytics solutions while minimizing duplication and ensuring alignment with privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Integrate data governance principles into emerging AI-enabled products and enterprise digital transformation initiatives.

Analytics Application Ownership & Delivery

  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify analytics needs, define business outcomes, and translate requirements into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable deliverables.
  • Own and prioritize analytics product backlogs and roadmaps, balancing business value, resource capacity, dependencies, risks, and long-term sustainability.
  • Guide analytics solutions throughout the product lifecycle, including discovery, design, development, implementation, adoption, continuous improvement, and retirement.
  • Lead reporting modernization and rationalization efforts by promoting reusable solutions, evaluating new dashboard requests, and supporting legacy reporting transitions.
  • Provide product ownership for the existing Qlik reporting environment, partnering with technical specialists to evaluate requirements, prioritize enhancements, and support transition activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional delivery teams and external partners, facilitate Agile activities, manage dependencies, and communicate project progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, product demonstrations, user acceptance testing, release readiness, and adoption while supporting SAP S/4HANA and other enterprise transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business, Technology, Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, business intelligence, analytics product ownership, business analysis, or digital product delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting enterprise data governance practices, including data ownership, stewardship, metadata management, data quality, and governance controls.
  • Proven experience managing analytics products or reporting portfolios, including requirements gathering, backlog prioritization, delivery coordination, stakeholder engagement, and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of analytics product management, business requirements analysis, Agile delivery methodologies, and user acceptance processes.
  • Ability to interpret data flows, models, and technical dependencies to support informed business and governance decisions without requiring hands-on data engineering expertise.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams. Fluency in English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise reporting and visualization platforms, particularly Qlik Sense or comparable business intelligence solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data catalogs and modern analytics platforms, including Alation, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting ERP modernization, SAP S/4HANA implementations, or enterprise reporting transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of data product lifecycle management, reporting rationalization, and reusable enterprise analytics solutions.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, external suppliers, or globally distributed delivery resources.
  • Understanding of AI-enabled analytics, large language model (LLM) applications, and the importance of high-quality governed data.
  • Experience applying change management and stakeholder engagement strategies to drive technology adoption and organizational transformation.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
