Job Description

As HR Services Business Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a consistent, customer-focused HR Services experience across Europe.

Partnering closely with the Europe HR Services Manager, you will help translate operational priorities into high-quality delivery, stronger governance and meaningful improvements for colleagues and stakeholders.

This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership. You will use performance insight to identify opportunities, resolve issues at pace and drive continuous improvement across the region.

Working alongside HR Services teams and regional partners, you will build alignment, enable confident decision-making and help create a high-performing, collaborative service culture.

Key responsibilities

Operational readiness, governance and enablement

  • Coordinate workforce onboarding, access, training and role-readiness activities, ensuring colleagues have the information, tools and support needed to perform effectively.
  • Maintain operational documentation, process materials, governance routines and reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility of priorities, risks, actions and decisions.
  • Support the adoption of agreed ways of working through clear communication, practical guidance and structured follow-through with delivery teams and stakeholders.
  • Maintain current, accessible HR Services materials for the Budapest Centre, including standard operating procedures, playbooks, governance packs and reference information.

Service performance and operational management

  • Monitor service dashboards and operational metrics; identify performance, quality, capacity and customer-experience trends, and coordinate action on deviations with the delivery team.
  • Provide concise, data-driven operational insights and recommendations to HR Services leadership to support timely decisions and prioritisation.
  • Coordinate service issues and escalations by bringing together the right stakeholders, clarifying root causes, agreeing corrective actions and maintaining communications through closure.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable business-control requirements, ensuring operating materials, evidence and practices remain current, effective and audit-ready.
  • Identify and deliver practical continuous-improvement opportunities that simplify work, reduce defects, strengthen controls and improve service consistency.

Leadership, stakeholder partnership and representation

  • Build an inclusive, accountable and results-driven service culture, reinforcing Syngenta leadership behaviours in daily decisions, communication and collaboration.
  • Enable managers and team members through clear priorities, performance dialogue, coaching and capability development; the role may have direct oversight of analysts or coordinators.
  • Represent Europe HR Services in relevant operational forums, providing a consistent service narrative and ensuring stakeholder feedback is translated into action.
  • Build effective partnerships with regional HR Services leaders, HR delivery teams, People Partners, People Advisors, HR Digital and Centres of Excellence.

Qualifications

Key capabilities

You are a confident operational leader who turns priorities into clear plans and delivers through change. You combine a strong customer mindset with attention to quality, risk and governance. You use data to understand root causes, work effectively across teams and seniority levels, and take ownership of issues through to resolution. You continuously look for simpler, more reliable and scalable ways of working.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Management, Economics or a related field-or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in HR Operations, HR Services, shared services, service delivery or a similar operational environment.
  • Proven ability to lead service performance, quality, controls, escalations and continuous improvement in complex organisations.
  • Experience using operational data and dashboards to identify trends and drive practical improvements.
  • Strong people, coaching or functional leadership skills, with a focus on capability and accountability.
  • Experience supporting operational readiness, change adoption or workforce enablement initiatives.
  • Fluent English.

Preferred

  • Experience in regional or global HR Services within a multinational organisation.
  • Familiarity with Workday, ADP GlobalView, ServiceNow, Power BI, Qlik or similar platforms.
  • Fluency in German and/or French would be an advantage.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
