Job Description

Help people stay in work and build brighter futures

We're looking for an In-Work Support Consultant to provide tailored support to people who have recently secured employment, helping them overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve long-term, sustainable outcomes.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives. You'll work directly with participants once they have started work, providing practical support, guidance and encouragement to help them remain in employment and progress towards their goals.

If you're passionate about helping people succeed, enjoy building relationships, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Salary: £26,227
  • Location: Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees (TS17 6DY)
  • Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a caseload of participants in employment, providing tailored support to help them sustain work and achieve long-term success.
  • Identify and address barriers that may impact participants' ability to remain in work, providing advice, guidance and appropriate challenge where needed.
  • Support participants to build confidence, resilience and the skills needed to progress in employment.
  • Provide information, guidance and signposting relating to welfare benefits and wider support services.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure participants receive a seamless and effective service.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal colleagues, employers and key stakeholders.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service, ensuring participants receive the support they need to achieve sustainable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate participant records in line with quality standards and contractual requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas and sharing best practice.

What we're looking for

You'll be someone who enjoys helping others, building positive relationships and achieving meaningful outcomes. To be successful, you'll have:

  • A commitment to our values of Kindness, Respect, Integrity and Innovation.
  • Experience working in a customer-focused, fast-paced and results-driven environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to build rapport quickly and effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
  • Good IT skills and experience using digital systems to manage caseloads and maintain records.
  • An understanding of welfare benefits and where advice and support can be accessed.
  • Knowledge of the employability sector and local labour market.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a wider team.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience supporting people facing barriers to employment.
  • Experience working within employability, welfare-to-work or related services.
  • NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
