The posting

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the management, maintenance, security, and performance optimization of enterprise database environments. This role ensures the availability, integrity, and reliability of mission-critical data systems used to support financial, operational, and housing management applications. The DBA works closely with application developers, system administrators, and IT infrastructure teams to maintain database architecture, implement performance improvements, and ensure compliance with security and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor enterprise database systems to ensure availability, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS) and related tools.
  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Monitor database environments to identify performance issues, bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational and government IT standards.
  • Support database design, schema development, and data modeling activities.
  • Collaborate with application developers to improve database performance and integration with enterprise applications.
  • Manage data migration, replication, and integration processes between systems.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Provide support during system upgrades, application deployments, and system integrations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience administering enterprise database environments.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production database systems.

Required Technical Skills

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • Oracle Database Administrator Certification
  • Other relevant database administration certifications
