The posting

At Weston Solutions, Inc. you will do meaningful work and make valuable contributions. Employee ownership at Weston is a path to professional growth and access to diverse opportunities in a highly connected community that works together across key service areas to make a difference in the environment. Weston has continued to evolve and adapt to our changing world as a premier provider of environmental and infrastructure services for over sixty years. In both the public and private sectors our teams help identify, solve, mitigate, and manage critical environmental issues to help clients achieve a more sustainable future.

Weston Solutions Inc. is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Specialist to serve as the day-to-day steward of consistent, strategy-aligned messaging across the enterprise. This role ensures that all leader updates, employee announcements, change initiative, and culture story reinforces the same strategic direction, priorities, and voice helping our employee-owners understand where Weston is going and how their work connects to that journey.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who thinks strategically and executes exceptionally well. You will own Weston's internal narrative and messaging frameworks, translate strategy into language employees can act on, partner with leaders to communicate with clarity and one voice, and bring stronger planning discipline to how information moves across the organization. You will collaborate closely with Marketing & Communications, HR/Talent Acquisition, Operations, IT, and business teams.

This role is designed for a communications professional with roughly 10 years of experience who is ready to elevate internal communications through enterprise narrative alignment, tighter cross-channel consistency, better storytelling, and thoughtful change communications.

Location: Hybrid and near a Weston office

Expected Outcomes:

Enterprise Narrative & Message Consistency

  • Own Weston's internal narrative, the core set of strategic messages, priorities, and proof points that every leader, channel, and campaign reinforces.
  • Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, editorial standards, and review workflows that keep tone, terminology, and strategic emphasis consistent across all internal communications.
  • Translate Weston's strategy, ESOP identity, technical impact, and AI-enabled evolution into clear, employee-centered language.
  • Audit messaging across newsletters, town halls, intranet, leader updates, and change communications to eliminate mixed or conflicting messages.
  • Help employees see how their work connects to Weston's strategic direction, clients, communities, and future.

Communications Planning & Channel Execution

  • Develop and maintain Weston's internal communications calendar, cadence, and channel plan in partnership with Marketing & Communications leadership.
  • Write, edit, and distribute employee-centered content including newsletters, intranet/SharePoint updates, leadership messages, employee announcements, and town hall materials.
  • Recommend audience segmentation, timing, and channel strategy, reducing reactive, one-off communications in favor of a coordinated, planned approach.

Executive & Leadership Communications

  • Draft and refine leader messages, talking points, presentation narratives, video scripts, and town hall content that ladder up to Weston's strategic narrative.
  • Advise leaders on messaging structure, tone, and employee-centered framing so leadership communications reflect one consistent strategic voice.
  • Support leadership visibility through recurring updates, recognition moments, and internal storytelling opportunities.

Change, Transformation & AI Enablement Communications

  • Develop communications plans and supporting materials such as FAQs, leader talking points, employee toolkits, and reinforcement messages for organizational updates, process changes, system rollouts, and AI enablement.
  • Translate complex operational, technical, digital, or AI-related topics into plain-language communications that connect changes to Weston's strategic direction.
  • Partner with project owners to clarify audiences, key messages, timing, communication risks, and follow-up needs; gather employee questions and feedback to identify gaps.

Employee Storytelling, Engagement & Measurement

  • Partner with HR/Talent Acquisition, SMEs, technical leaders, and project teams to surface stories that reflect Weston's ESOP culture, technical excellence, safety commitment, and mission-driven work.
  • Support employer brand and culture content that reinforces the same strategic narrative used across internal channels.
  • Track performance using open/click rates, intranet engagement, town hall participation, employee feedback, and message recall; use data to strengthen message clarity, consistency, timing, and leader enablement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 10 years of experience in internal, employee, corporate, change, and/or executive communications.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, Public Relations, Organizational Development, or related field and/or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven ability to develop enterprise messaging frameworks and maintain consistency of message across leaders, campaigns, and channels.
  • Strong writing, editing, and message-development skills, including translating complex business, technical, or operational topics into clear employee communications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting organizational change, strategic initiatives, and executive/leadership communications.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across HR, Operations, IT, and business teams with the ability to synthesize input and make practical messaging recommendations.
  • Experience managing internal channels: newsletters, intranet/SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, town halls, Viva Engage/Yammer, email platforms, and CMS tools.
  • Strong project management, editorial planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly for drafting, research, and workflow efficiency while maintaining editorial quality and confidentiality.
  • Basic design judgment, video scripting, or visual storytelling capability.
  • Familiarity with change management or communications planning frameworks.
  • Preferred experience in AEC, environmental consulting, engineering, government contracting, or another complex technical B2B environment.

We fully invest in our people: Weston provides a generous, comprehensive benefits package program that offers employees high value options with solid financial protection, meeting the personal needs of its people and their families.

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with base and matching employer stock contributions.
  • Paid time off includes personal, holiday and parental.
  • Life and disability plans.
  • Critical illness and accident plans.
  • Work/Life flexibility.
  • Professional development opportunities.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
