Job Description
The Senior Professional – Owner’s Representative Engineering Services provides day-to-day technical, project coordination, and delivery support for owner’s representative assignments within WSP USA Buildings Inc’s Property & Buildings practice. Working under the guidance of senior team members, this role helps advance planning, design review, procurement support, construction-phase coordination, closeout, and client reporting activities across complex building and infrastructure projects.
This position is suited for a professional with well-developed practical knowledge of project delivery processes and the ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal guidance. The individual applies strong analytical and coordination skills, leads defined technical assignments within larger projects, solves moderately complex problems, supports entry-level staff as needed, and contributes to organized, responsive, and technically sound service to owner clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead defined project support tasks for assigned owner’s representative projects by coordinating project information, maintaining action trackers, monitoring deliverables, and helping keep project activities organized and on schedule.
- Assist with planning studies, existing conditions reviews, technical assessments, options analyses, and development of owner decision-support materials.
- Review project documents, drawings, reports, and submittal-related information for consistency, completeness, and alignment with owner requirements and project objectives.
- Coordinate input from internal technical teams and external project participants to support design reviews, procurement activities, construction-phase services, and closeout tasks.
- Prepare meeting notes, status summaries, logs, presentations, and written client support materials with clear documentation of key issues, decisions, and follow-up actions.
- Track project scope, schedule milestones, open issues, and risk items, and elevate concerns to project leadership when attention or resolution is needed.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, field reviews, and site visits to gather information, document observations, and support coordination among stakeholders.
- Support procurement and contracting activities through document assembly, bid process coordination, evaluation support, and administrative follow-through.
- Contribute to construction-phase support by tracking questions, changes, submittals, and outstanding issues affecting owner priorities, schedule, budget, or quality.
- Assist with commissioning coordination, punch list tracking, turnover documentation, and operational readiness activities during project closeout.
- Apply established tools, templates, and best practices while exercising sound judgment on moderately complex assignments, proactively identifying issues, and seeking guidance on unusual or high-risk matters.
- Act as a dependable resource to peers and project teams by sharing information, following through on commitments, and contributing to consistent, high-quality delivery.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, marketing materials, or pursuit support activities related to owner’s representative services, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
- Typically 5–7 years of relevant experience in building engineering, project delivery, construction administration, owner’s representative services, technical coordination, or related capital project support roles.
- Working knowledge of building systems, project delivery phases, consultant coordination, procurement processes, and construction-phase documentation.
- Ability to work independently on defined assignments, manage multiple tasks, and exercise judgment based on analysis of project information from several sources.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare organized documentation and clearly communicate status, issues, and next steps.
- Proficiency with common project management, document control, and collaboration tools used to support multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Progress toward professional licensure or industry credentials such as EIT, PE, RA, PMP, CCM, or similar is desirable.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $115,600 - $145,000
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
