The posting
York is seeking an early‑career RF Engineer to support the development, integration, and operation of RF communication systems across the full spacecraft lifecycle. In this role, you will collaborate closely with technology partners, assess communication link performance, and help ensure robust, scalable RF solutions that enable high‑volume satellite production. This is a systems‑integration role, not a component‑design position, focused on managing vendor‑provided RF hardware, validating performance, and ensuring end‑to‑end communication reliability from program proposal through on‑orbit commissioning. This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office. Responsibilities
Execute systems‑engineering activities across the RF subsystem lifecycle, from requirements definition through verification and operations. Support York’s manufacturing‑at‑scale objectives by defining, validating, and implementing cost‑effective RF communication solutions. Determine RF component specifications in alignment with spacecraft architecture, customer requirements, and industry standards. Serve as an internal resource for foundational RF communications theory and physics. Validate waveform compatibility and support resolution of on‑orbit RF link anomalies. Support requirement decomposition and allocation for RF systems. Generate and maintain high‑quality systems engineering artifacts for major reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR). Enhance existing RF link analysis tools and implement new models to improve system fidelity. Conduct antenna co‑interference simulations using 3D EM tools. Support AIT through review of non‑conformances, test plans, and as‑run documentation. Travel occasionally to support testing and launch campaigns.
This role will not have direct reports. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Communications, or related field. Understanding of basic link budget concepts. Familiarity with analog RF components (antennas, amplifiers, filters) and digital communications fundamentals (SDR, modulation, coding). Ability to script in Python and work with Git‑based version control. High attention to detail, accountability, and desire for collaborative work in a fast‑paced environment.
U.S. Citizenship. Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.
Willingness to work full-time in office in Greenwood Village, CO.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with design, development, or testing of RF communication systems.
Familiarity with modulation and coding standards such as CCSDS and DVB‑S2. Basic experience with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers). Active U.S. Secret security clearance or higher.
