The posting
York is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to lead and deepen the technical integration of spacecraft RF communication systems. You will partner with internal teams and external vendors to architect high‑reliability RF solutions, guide link‑budget assessments, and ensure communication performance that scales with York’s high‑tempo production environment. This is a senior‑level systems‑integration role, not a component‑design position, focused on leading the technical direction of vendor‑provided RF hardware, overseeing advanced performance validation, and ensuring resilient, high‑reliability communication links throughout spacecraft development and on‑orbit operations This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office. Responsibilities
Lead systems‑engineering development activities for RF subsystems across proposal, development, integration, test, and on‑orbit phases. Drive implementation of robust, cost‑effective RF communication architectures that enable manufacturing at scale. Own RF component specification development for compliance with spacecraft configuration and customer requirements. Serve as a senior technical resource for RF physics, communication theory, and link‑budget methodology. Validate waveform compatibility and support root‑cause analysis for on‑orbit link issues. Lead requirement decomposition and allocation activities for RF systems. Develop, maintain, and present systems‑engineering artifacts for major program reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR). Drive enhancement of RF link analysis tools and lead new modeling initiatives. Perform antenna co‑interference simulations using advanced 3D EM tools. Support AIT through evaluation of non‑conformances, master test plan reviews, and as‑run analysis. Travel as needed to support testing campaigns and launch operations.
This role will not have direct reports. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Wireless Communications, or related discipline. 4+ years of experience in RF engineering or RF systems integration. Ability to independently perform space‑to‑ground link budget analysis. Advanced understanding of analog RF components and digital communication systems. Hands‑on experience with design, development, and/or testing of RF communication systems. Familiarity with satellite standards such as CCSDS and DVB‑S2. Proficiency in Python scripting and Git. Detail‑oriented, accountable, and collaborative in a fast‑moving engineering environment. U.S. Citizenship. Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. Willingness to work full-time in office in Greenwood Village, CO.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with RF test equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers).
Active U.S. Secret security clearance or higher.
