The posting

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an innovative DeepTech startup specializing in the development of next-generation sodium-ion batteries, offering a more sustainable, safer, and less critical-material-dependent alternative to lithium-ion battery technology.

As the company enters a strong growth and industrialization phase, our client is strengthening its team by creating a strategic position responsible for ensuring the technical mastery of battery active materials, supporting the industrial scale-up of manufacturing processes, and securing an international supplier network.

Position

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you will play a strategic role at the interface between R&D and Operations, leading all activities related to battery active materials (cathode, anode, and electrolyte). This newly created position offers the opportunity to build this function from the ground up and contribute directly to the industrialization of Tiamat's battery technology.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the technical expertise and control of battery active materials and their manufacturing processes.
  • Acting as the interface between the R&D teams and suppliers, translating scientific requirements into technical and industrial specifications.
  • Identifying, qualifying, and developing suppliers of battery active materials, primarily in China, South Korea, and Japan.
  • Managing supplier qualification cycles, from sample evaluation through industrial scale-up.
  • Co-developing product and process specifications, as well as quality standards, including FMEA, control plans, and qualification protocols.
  • Supporting the industrialization and scale-up of manufacturing processes.
  • Working closely with the R&D, Production, Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Process Engineering teams to ensure product quality, performance, and supply chain security.

The position is based in Amiens, Hauts-de-France, with a hybrid working model and requires regular international travel, which may evolve into longer assignments as the industrialization project progresses.

Profile

You hold a Master's degree or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.

You have strong expertise in active materials chemistry (cathode, anode, and/or electrolyte) or in the development and industrialization of complex materials within an industrial environment.

You have significant experience in the development and qualification of industrial suppliers and have successfully supported at least one complete industrial development cycle, from material qualification through manufacturing scale-up. You are able to translate R&D requirements into clear technical and industrial specifications for suppliers.

You have a strong understanding of manufacturing and industrialization processes, technical specification writing, quality management tools such as FMEA, control plans, and qualification protocols, as well as cross-functional project management within an international industrial environment.

You are comfortable collaborating with international industrial partners, particularly in China, South Korea, and Japan. Fluency in English is essential, while Mandarin would be considered a strong asset.

Autonomous, rigorous, and possessing excellent interpersonal skills, you thrive in fast-growing and relatively unstructured environments. A true builder, you enjoy creating new processes, working in constantly evolving environments, and coordinating multiple stakeholders to contribute directly to the industrialization of an innovative battery technology.

If you are looking to join an innovative DeepTech startup and play a key role in the industrial development of a next-generation battery technology, we look forward to receiving your application.

Please submit your CV, cover letter, and salary expectations to Adoc Talent Management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
