Área de la práctica: Array Maintenance Group (AMG)

1. Propósito y valor esperado de la práctica

Realizar apoyo a las actividades de mantenimiento preventivo y correctivo de radiotelescopios, en el área de antena control. Se espera que, al término de su práctica, el alumno refuerce los conocimientos adquiridos en su formación académica, los cuales puedan ser complementados con nuevos aprendizajes en terreno y de confección de reportes técnicos.

2. Trabajo o proyecto propuesto

· Reemplazo de filtros de gabinetes.

· Inspección y test de alarmas / sensores de incendio en las antenas.

· Inspección de calefactores del calibration volume en antena europea.

· Inspección de gabinetes eléctricos.

· Inspección de la unidad de control de las antenas.

· Otras tareas relacionadas al Mantenimiento de las Antenas que forman el Arreglo del observatorio ALMA.

· Mantenimiento correctivo en antenas.

· Entre otras actividades propias del área.

3. Experiencia de aprendizaje

Se espera que el/la estudiante adquiera conocimientos en labores de mantenimiento preventivo y correctivo en las antenas, en el área de antena control. El alumno(a) participará en las etapas de preparación, ejecución y confección de reportes de las diferentes actividades que se le asignen, siempre acompañado por un especialista con experiencia en el área.

4. Supervisión

La supervisión del practicante se realizará mediante su incorporación a los distintos grupos de trabajo del área, participando en las actividades y tareas que le sean asignadas y siguiendo en todo momento las instrucciones, procedimientos y normas establecidas por el equipo. El supervisor directo será responsable de realizar el seguimiento de su desempeño y de verificar que el practicante se integre adecuadamente al grupo de trabajo, participando de manera activa y colaborativa, demostrando disposición para aprender, capacidad de cooperación, responsabilidad y una actitud positiva frente a las tareas y desafíos que se le presenten.
