Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Pressure washes indoor and outdoor corridors, hallway, and walls.
  • To be willing to train and instruct other members of staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of their own.
  • To properly file and organize important documents, keep logs and write routine reports.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Shampoos/extracts guest rooms, Public Spaces, and corridor carpet to the established standard.
  • Shampoos/extracts guest rooms and Public Spaces chairs and furniture as needed.
  • Extracts water from carpets and floors.
  • Strips, scrubs, polishes, buffs, wax all tiled area and stairways.
  • Ensures supply room is stocked with needed supplies.
  • Assists in keeping all storage areas and linen rooms clean.
  • Attends training when requested to ensure the development of proper skills necessary to perform duties.
  • Ensures that equipment is properly functioning within the department, reports malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
  • Reports any guest room and hallway carpet deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Have a complete understanding and adhere to the policies within the employee handbook.
  • Has a sound knowledge of the hotel’s services and facilities.
  • Carries out any other duty requested by supervisor.
  • The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you will be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent vocational training • Minimum 1 year experience as hotel cleaner or in janitorial / cleaning position preferred.
