Make an impact as technical lead across four marine projects
At Ballast Nedam Wind & Marine we deliver complex marine and energy infrastructure that islands, ports and Europe’s energy supply depend on. As Senior Project Engineer Wind & Marine you hold the technical leadership across four projects: Black Rocks Harbor on Saba, coastal protection and harbour works on Sint Eustatius, quay wall rehabilitation in the Port of Castries (Saint Lucia) and the LNG sea jetty in Brunsbüttel (Germany). You safeguard technical quality, constructability and risk control from tender stage to final delivery.
Your responsibilities
You translate concepts and designs into robust engineering solutions and manage technical risks proactively across the portfolio. You are a trusted technical counterpart for very different clients. Throughout execution you guard technical integrity and keep each project aligned with its goals.
As a senior engineer you are technically excellent and a mentor for the engineers on all four projects, building one consistent way of working within a fast-growing business unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading technical solutions and execution methods for breakwaters, quay walls, jetties and heavy piling.
- Overseeing engineering across tender and execution phases on all four projects.
- Steering the X-bloc chain from production on Sint Eustatius to placement on Saba.
- Leading technical option studies and phasing for the Statia harbour upgrade.
- Guiding the Castries quay rehabilitation and the Brunsbüttel jetty engineering within their contract settings.
- Owning the technical risk picture across projects, including marine operations and heavy lift.
- Coaching and guiding (junior) project engineers and sharing lessons learned between sites.
- Driving process improvements and engineering best practices within Wind & Marine.
In short: a hands-on senior engineer with vision, who keeps the overview across projects, ensures technical excellence and brings people along.
