Die Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) wurde 1949 gegründet und gehört zu den weltweit führenden unabhängigen Nachrichtenagenturen. dpa beliefert Medien, Unternehmen und Organisationen mit redaktionellen Angeboten. Dazu zählen Texte, Fotos, Videos, Grafiken, Hörfunkbeiträge und andere Formate. Als international tätige Agentur berichtet dpa in sieben Sprachen. Rund 1000 Journalistinnen und Journalisten arbeiten von rund 150 Standorten im In- und Ausland aus. Gesellschafter der dpa sind rund 170 deutsche Medienunternehmen. Die dpa-Redaktion arbeitet nach den im dpa-Statut festgelegten Grundsätzen: unabhängig von Weltanschauungen, Wirtschaftsunternehmen oder Regierungen.

Für unseren Standort in Berlin suchen wir zum 01. Januar 2027 oder nach Absprache einen Data & Analytics Engineer (m/w/d). Die Position ist unbefristet und in Vollzeit (37,5h/Woche) zu besetzen.

Der Job + Die Verantwortung

  • Du erschließt und verknüpfst redaktionelle Datenquellen auf unserer zentralen Datenplattform auf Databricks/AWS
  • Du integrierst, modellierst und transformierst Content-, Nutzungs- und Business-Daten und stellst sie für AI Engineers, Analysten und Produktteams performant und skalierbar bereit
  • Du sorgst für Datenqualität, Konsistenz, Dokumentation und Nachvollziehbarkeit – von der Quelle bis zum Datenprodukt
  • Du entwickelst und pflegst einheitliche Kennzahlen für redaktionelle Inhalte, Nutzung, Produkte und Prozesse
  • Du entwickelst Dashboards, automatisierte Reports und datenbasierte Anwendungen weiter und optimierst sie für redaktionelle Teams
  • Du automatisierst wiederkehrende Datenaufbereitungs-, Analyse- und Reportingprozesse
  • Du unterstützt redaktionelle Produktentwicklung und KI-Innovation mit wiederverwendbaren, qualitätsgesicherten Datenmodellen für Konzepte, Tests und Prototypen
  • Du entwickelst die redaktionelle Wirkungsmessung für KI-gestützte Arbeitsprozesse, Features, Agenten und journalistische Produkte mit und begleitest ihre technische Umsetzung
  • Du arbeitest eng mit Redaktion, Produktverantwortlichen und dem Daten- und KI-Team zusammen und teilst Wissen über Dokumentation, Reviews und Pairing
  • Du arbeitest gern auch mal mit Kolleginnen und Kollegen in Berlin oder Hamburg vor Ort zusammen

Du + Deine Stärken

  • Du hast mehrjährige Erfahrung im Data Engineering oder Analytics Engineering mit modernen Cloud-Stacks (idealerweise AWS + Databricks)
  • Du beherrschst SQL und Python sehr gut und hast idealerweise Erfahrung mit PySpark und Delta Lake
  • Du hast ein Grundverständnis von ETL/ELT-Prozessen und der Anbindung von Datenquellen
  • Du hast Erfahrung mit analytischen Datenmodellen, idealerweise mit Bronze/Silver/Gold- oder Dimensionsmodellen, und kannst fachliche Anforderungen in belastbare, dokumentierte Datenmodelle übersetzen
  • Du hast ein gutes Verständnis für Datenqualität, Dokumentation und reproduzierbare Entwicklungsprozesse im Kontext von AI- und Analyse-Use-Cases und arbeitest sicher mit Git
  • Idealerweise hast du Erfahrung mit Dashboards, Self-Service-Analytics und der Datenbindung von KI-Anwendungen (z.B. über Vektordatenbanken)
  • Du verstehst die Anforderungen redaktioneller Arbeit und interessierst dich für Medien, Journalismus und redaktionelle KI-Anwendungen
  • Du arbeitest gern interdisziplinär und kannst technische Sachverhalte verständlich erklären
  • Du arbeitest analytisch und lösungsorientiert
  • Du sprichst Deutsch und Englisch auf einem sehr guten Niveau (C1, fachkundige Sprachkenntnisse)
