The posting

Who we are

Flow Pouch makes functional mushroom pouches. People use them as a clean alternative to nicotine pouches and energy products: no nicotine, no caffeine, no crash. We launched in 2024, we have grown quickly, mostly through subscriptions, and we manufacture in the US. We are a remote team of about 30 people across the US, Europe and the Philippines.

Why we are hiring

Our technology has grown faster than our ownership of it. The Shopify store and its apps, the A/B testing stack, a growing set of internal AI tools the founders have built themselves, a VPS or two, and soon a mobile app: today all of this is looked after by the founders, an agency that is being phased out, and freelancers. We want one technical person who owns all of it, keeps it running, decides what gets built in-house and what gets bought, and leads the developer, the designer and the AI builders who do the work.

You would report to Djordje, our co-founder who runs operations and work closely with both founders. This is a hands-on lead role: you will write and review code yourself, and you will also be the person the rest of the company calls when something technical breaks.

What you will own

  • The store. Shopify theme, apps, checkout, settings, integrations with our subscription, email and analytics tools. Nothing breaks, and when it does you know first.
  • Testing and site changes. The A/B tests our team wants to run get implemented quickly and correctly, about eight a month today.
  • Internal tools. The AI-assisted apps the founders have built for the creative team: take them over, harden them, host them properly, and build the next ones.
  • The mobile app. We are planning an iOS and Android app. You scope it, pick the approach and the people, and run the build.
  • Infrastructure and security. Hosting, VPS maintenance, access control, backups, domains, the basics done properly.
  • The team. A Shopify developer and a web and brand designer report to you from day one, AI builders join as we grow, and you will help hire our SEO lead. You set standards, review work and unblock people.

What this role is not

This is not a CRO strategy role; our team decides what to test, you make the tests happen. It is not a pure management role either: with a team this small you will be in the code most days. And it is not an agency relationship; we want one person who treats our stack as their own.

Who we are looking for

  • You have five or more years as a developer and at least two leading a small technical team or being the sole technical owner at a company.
  • You know Shopify deeply: Liquid and OS 2.0 themes, apps and checkout extensibility, the common DTC app stack (Recharge or Skio, Klaviyo, a CRO tool, GA4).
  • You are comfortable across the stack: a modern JavaScript or TypeScript codebase, a Python or Node backend, Linux servers, Git, basic networking and security.
  • You build with AI tools every day and have shipped something real with them, and you can tell us what they are bad at.
  • You have shipped or managed a mobile app, or you can show us how you would approach a first one.
  • You communicate clearly in English with non-technical founders and you say no when something is a bad idea.
  • You are based in Europe or within a few hours of Central European time; some overlap with US Eastern afternoons is needed.

What is hard about this

We would rather you hear it now than in month three:

  • You inherit systems built fast by founders and freelancers, with thin documentation. The first months are as much archaeology as engineering.
  • The founders are technical enough to build their own tools and will have opinions. You need to earn the right to say "we do it this way" through results.
  • Priorities change quickly. A request on Monday can be live by Thursday, and you will be the one keeping that from becoming chaos.
  • The team is small. There is no platform team behind you.

Compensation

Very competitive, set with the person. We would rather hear your expectation than anchor you with a number.

How to apply

Send us your CV or LinkedIn profile, plus short answers to three questions:

  1. A system you took over from someone else and made reliable. What did you find, what did you change first, and why?
  2. Something you have built with AI tools in the last six months that is in real use. What did the tools get wrong?

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
