Location: Sri Lanka

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager – Quality Assurance to lead quality systems, regulatory compliance, audit management, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

This role is responsible for maintaining quality management systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, overseeing quality assurance operations, and driving a strong culture of quality excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products, processes, and systems consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Manage and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS), compliance standards, and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems and processes.
  • Identify quality gaps and implement corrective and preventive measures.

Audits, Risk & CAPA Management

  • Lead internal, supplier, customer, and external audits.
  • Manage CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and risk assessment activities.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit findings and quality-related issues.
  • Promote a proactive approach to quality risk management.

Quality Operations & Validation

  • Oversee quality assurance testing and laboratory operations.
  • Manage method validation and process validation activities.
  • Ensure quality control processes are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Monitor quality performance indicators and drive operational improvements.

Customer Quality & Product Support

  • Manage customer complaints and product quality investigations.
  • Coordinate mock recalls and market quality reviews.
  • Monitor and report quality KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Ensure product quality standards meet customer and business expectations.

New Product Development & Projects

  • Support New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects.
  • Review packaging development activities, artwork approvals, and stability studies.
  • Participate in quality improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support business growth through quality-focused innovation and process enhancements.

Systems, Data & Leadership

  • Manage MDG data processes, ISO systems, certifications, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure accurate quality records and data management practices.
  • Train, coach, and develop teams on quality requirements and systems.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and promote a culture of quality awareness across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading a Quality function as a Head of Department or similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS, regulatory compliance, audits, CAPA, and risk management.
  • Experience working with ISO Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001:2015.
  • Strong laboratory, supplier quality, and project management experience.
  • Excellent data management and computer literacy skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and training abilities.
