The posting

Systems Analyst — LATAM

Location: Medellín, Colombia — Hybrid (onsite + remote) Type of Contract: EOR Contract — 6 months, with potential to extend and/or convert to a permanent role based on performance and business need Salary Range: 3200-3500 USD Language Requirements: Excellent written and spoken English; publication-quality fluency required Schedule: Core Central Time (CST) business hours, aligned with the U.S.-based delivery team

Our client is seeking a skilled Systems Analyst with strong business requirements, functional design, Azure DevOps, and systems testing experience to join their growing team. You will play a key role in translating stakeholder needs into clear requirements, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, test results, and developer-ready backlog items. Your work will directly impact the quality, clarity, and successful delivery of features across multiple concurrent software development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Author and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Design (FD) documents for features across multiple active development projects.
  • Define clear, testable Acceptance Criteria (ACs) and maintain traceability from BRD → FD → AC → Azure DevOps (ADO) backlog items.
  • Identify ambiguities, scope conflicts, and requirements gaps before they reach development, escalating issues for resolution when needed.
  • Perform functional, regression, and UAT support testing; document test results, defects, and retest outcomes clearly for engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Break approved specifications into appropriately sized ADO epics, features, user stories, and tasks for individual developer assignment.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and development leads to sequence backlog work according to sprint capacity across active projects.
  • Maintain consistent documentation, terminology, version control, changelogs, tagging, naming, and backlog hierarchy as requirements evolve.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst supporting software delivery projects.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including backlog structuring, work item hierarchy, and sprint planning artifacts.
  • Demonstrated experience authoring Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Design (FD) documents; writing samples may be requested during screening.
  • Hands-on systems and functional testing experience, including test case design, execution, defect documentation, and retesting.
  • Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to produce high-quality client- and developer-facing documentation.
  • Ability to work Central Time (CST) business hours and manage requirements and backlog activities across multiple concurrent projects without cross-contaminating scope.
  • Experience using AI-assisted workflows to draft, structure, or review documentation, with a willingness to continue building AI fluency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with SaaS or multi-tenant platforms.
  • Familiarity with document-management or workflow-orchestration products.
  • Experience analyzing systems built on the Microsoft technology stack, including Azure, .NET, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong, active use of AI tools as part of a daily documentation and QA workflow.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
