Location: McLean, VA. This is a locally based opportunity with remote work flexibility available after the first 90 days. You must be available for in-person office meetings, court appearances, and hearings as needed.

Note: Candidates must be admitted to practice law in Virginia and have insurance defense experience involving both workers' compensation and liability matters.

Job Description

  • Defend employers, businesses, and insured clients in workers' compensation and liability disputes.
  • Manage litigation matters involving automobile accidents, premises liability, and general liability claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal memoranda.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and negotiate favorable resolutions.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Active Virginia law license required.
  • 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Experience with both workers' compensation and general or automobile liability defense.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Experience handling discovery, motions, depositions, and court proceedings.
  • Strong legal writing, communication, and case management skills.
