About the Company and Role

We are hiring a Senior System Analyst for our client, a financial company in Almaty.

This is a key role within the development team. The main focus is turning business requirements into detailed technical specifications for both frontend and backend development and supporting the process from requirements gathering through implementation and acceptance.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and other analysts. The team already has system documentation in place, including architecture, diagrams, roadmaps, and technical specifications, giving you a solid base to work with and develop further.

AI tools are already part of the development process, and we are looking for someone who can use them effectively in daily work to handle routine tasks faster and focus on more complex analytical work.

Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan (full-time, office-based).

We are offering:

  • Salary from 1,000,000 KZT net, depending on experience and expertise;
  • A key role within the development team with ownership of the analytical workflow;
  • Close collaboration with business and engineering teams;
  • The opportunity to improve documentation standards and analytical processes within the team;
  • A team that actively uses AI tools in development and analytical workflows.

Interview Process:

  • HR Screening (30–40 minutes);
  • Technical Specification Portfolio Review. You will be asked to share examples of technical specifications or similar documentation from previous projects;
  • Interview with the Hiring Manager;
  • Job Offer.

What kind of qualifications we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a System Analyst, Business/System Analyst, or in a similar role, including at least 2–3 years in financial systems;
  • Confident, practical use of AI tools in daily work to speed up routine analytical and documentation tasks;
  • Experience in fintech, banking, brokerage, depository, or financial accounting systems;
  • Understanding of core financial concepts and processes, including accounts, transactions, settlements, interest, and financial applications;
  • Ability to independently prepare technical specifications for both frontend and backend development;
  • Experience participating in the implementation or replacement of large corporate systems;
  • Experience in acceptance and functional testing of complex system changes;
  • Good understanding of information systems, including frontend, backend, databases, integrations, and access rights;
  • Understanding of databases, including entities, relationships, reference data, and constraints, and APIs, including requests, responses, and errors, at the level required to define tasks for developers;
  • SQL skills sufficient to independently validate data;
  • Experience with BPMN and screen prototyping;
  • Experience gathering and clarifying requirements from business stakeholders, developers, and other analysts;
  • Ability to identify gaps and contradictions in requirements and propose solutions;
  • Strong system thinking and ability to organize complex information into well-structured documentation;
  • High level of independence, ownership, and initiative.

Nice-to-have Requirements:

  • Experience in brokerage, securities, investment, or capital markets;
  • Understanding of securities operations, exchanges, depositories, and related data flows;
  • Understanding of financial regulation and reporting, including AML/CFT requirements;
  • Experience with data migration from legacy systems;
  • Experience working on projects or systems built from scratch;
  • Knowledge of Kazakh.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the analytical process from requirements through implementation and acceptance;
  • Conduct interviews and working sessions with business stakeholders and key specialists;
  • Gather and clarify requirements from business stakeholders, developers, and other analysts;
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for frontend and backend development;
  • Describe business processes, system scenarios, edge cases, data processing rules, and acceptance criteria;
  • Define requirements for integrations with external systems, APIs, data flows, and data migration;
  • Identify gaps and contradictions in business requirements and propose solutions;
  • Track open questions and coordinate decisions to prevent delays in development;
  • Support developers during implementation and clarify requirements when needed;
  • Review implemented functionality against agreed requirements and participate in functional acceptance;
  • Maintain and improve documentation standards and templates used by the team;
  • Review technical specifications prepared by other analysts;
  • Mentor and support another analyst on the team, helping improve the quality and speed of analytical work;
  • Use AI tools in daily analytical and documentation work to reduce time spent on routine tasks.

If you are a senior analyst who can turn complex business requirements into technical specifications developers can actually work with, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
