COMPANY OVERVIEW

STACK Infrastructure builds, owns, and operates hyperscale and colocation data centers that power the world’s most ambitious technology companies. With a rapidly expanding footprint across APAC, STACK combines deep development expertise, flexible capital, and operational discipline to deliver critical digital infrastructure at scale.

Our clients include the largest hyperscale cloud platforms. We are building a regional platform defined by speed of delivery, power reliability, and long-term partnership — and we are assembling the team to lead that effort.

Summary/Objective

The Senior Project Manager – HV Infrastructure is a key role within STACK’s Power & Energy function, responsible for the successful delivery of major high-voltage infrastructure supporting STACK’s data centre developments across Australia.

The role provides end-to-end project leadership for HV infrastructure from early design and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning and energisation. This may include transmission and distribution connections, HV substations, transformers, switchgear, transmission lines/cables, contestable works, BESS and associated electrical infrastructure.

The Senior Project Manager will act as STACK’s primary delivery interface with HV EPC contractors and work closely with the Principal Engineer – HV Infrastructure, Grid Connection Manager, Engineering, Delivery, network service providers and other project stakeholders.

The role is accountable for ensuring HV infrastructure is delivered safely, to programme, within approved budget and in accordance with STACK’s technical and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

HV Infrastructure Project Delivery

- Lead delivery of major HV infrastructure projects from early development and ECI through EPC execution, commissioning and energisation.

- Develop and maintain integrated project programmes covering engineering, procurement, long-lead equipment, construction, testing, network interfaces and energisation.

- Manage project scope, programme, cost, risk, quality and change control.

- Coordinate delivery of substations, contestable works, HV cables/lines, transformers, switchgear, BESS and associated infrastructure as applicable.

- Ensure HV delivery milestones remain aligned with the overall data centre development programme.

EPC & Contractor Management

- Lead procurement, engagement and management of HV EPC contractors and specialist delivery partners.

- Support development of ECI/EPC scopes, tender documentation, commercial evaluations and contract award recommendations.

- Establish clear contractor deliverables, interfaces, programme requirements and acceptance criteria.

- Monitor EPC performance against programme, cost, quality and contractual obligations.

- Manage contractor reporting, variations, claims, risks and corrective actions in conjunction with Commercial and Legal teams.

- Maintain clear single-point accountability for delivery of the upstream HV package.

Engineering & Project Interfaces

- Work closely with the Principal Engineer – HV Infrastructure to ensure technical requirements are incorporated into EPC design and delivery.

- Coordinate with the Grid Connection Manager to ensure connection requirements, CPS, GPS, NSP requirements and grid studies are reflected in project execution.

- Manage interfaces with Engineering and Delivery at the agreed campus electrical interface.

- Coordinate project dependencies with NSPs, contestable works providers, OEMs and other external stakeholders.

- Ensure design changes, construction issues and programme decisions are communicated and resolved across relevant teams.

Commissioning & Energisation

- Own the integrated delivery programme for testing, commissioning and energisation of HV infrastructure.

- Coordinate EPC contractors, NSPs, OEMs, Grid Connection Manager, engineering teams and Delivery through energisation readiness.

- Establish commissioning milestones, hold points, prerequisites and completion requirements.

- Ensure required documentation, test records, defects and technical approvals are completed prior to handover.

- Manage transition of completed HV assets into Operations, including documentation, training, spares and operational readiness.

Governance, Safety & Risk

- Promote a strong safety culture across all HV project activities.

- Ensure contractors comply with STACK standards, applicable legislation, network requirements and project safety systems.

- Maintain project risk, issue, change and decision registers.

- Provide clear reporting on programme, cost, risk and delivery status to senior leadership.

- Capture lessons learned and contribute to standardisation of future STACK HV infrastructure projects.

Competencies

- Strong project leadership and major infrastructure delivery capability.

- Strong knowledge of HV electrical infrastructure and substation delivery.

- Demonstrated ability to manage major EPC contracts and contractors.

- Strong programme, commercial, risk and change-management capability.

- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills.

- Strong understanding of testing, commissioning and energisation of HV infrastructure.

- Ability to communicate complex delivery issues clearly to senior leadership.

Travel Required

Travel within Australia and, from time to time, internationally to support STACK projects, stakeholder meetings, technical reviews, workshops and commissioning activities.

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

- Experience managing EPC contractors and major construction packages.

- Experience managing projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and energisation.

- Strong understanding of project controls, programme, cost, risk and contract management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
