Location: Malmö, Sweden Assignment type: Consulting assignment Onsite: 3–4 days per week in Malmö

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment with an international company in Malmö.

You will join a highly skilled engineering environment and work on the development and evolution of modern, large-scale software solutions. The role requires strong hands-on experience in both Java and JavaScript.

The Assignment

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams in an international environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality software solutions
  • Develop backend services and APIs using Java
  • Develop web-based functionality using JavaScript
  • Work with integrations and distributed systems
  • Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code
  • Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
  • Work closely with other engineers and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
  • Take ownership of solutions from design through implementation and delivery

Must-Have Requirements

  • Strong professional experience with Java
  • Strong professional experience with JavaScript
  • Experience with backend and web application development
  • Experience developing and integrating REST APIs
  • Good understanding of distributed systems and modern software architecture
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and clean code
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Professional proficiency in English

Please note: Strong hands-on experience in both Java and JavaScript is mandatory for this assignment.

Consultant Profile

We are looking for a senior consultant who can quickly become productive in an established engineering environment.

You are comfortable taking ownership, working independently and collaborating with highly experienced engineers. You have a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and a strong focus on quality, scalability and maintainability.
