  • Verify that machinery, tools, vehicles, and equipment are used and maintained in accordance with applicable safety requirements.
  • Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with site-specific safety standards.
  • Document inspection findings, communicate identified deficiencies, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification

  • Conduct workplace risk assessments and job safety analyses to identify hazards associated with mining and related operational activities.
  • Evaluate risks associated with equipment operation, material handling, vehicle movement, maintenance, and other site activities.
  • Recommend appropriate control measures to eliminate hazards or reduce risks to acceptable levels.
  • Review job safety analyses, risk assessments, and safe work procedures before high-risk activities commence.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of risk controls across operational areas.

  • Reinforce employee awareness of hazard identification, incident reporting, and individual safety responsibilities.
  • Support safety campaigns and initiatives designed to reduce workplace incidents and improve safety performance.
  • Maintain records of safety inductions, training attendance, and competency-related documentation.

Environmental & Occupational Health Management

  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with applicable environmental protection requirements and internal procedures.
  • Identify potential environmental hazards associated with waste handling, dust, spills, emissions, and the storage or use of hazardous materials.
  • Support appropriate waste management, spill prevention, housekeeping, and pollution-control practices.
  • Monitor workplace conditions that may affect employee health and safety and recommend appropriate control measures.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are handled, stored, and managed in accordance with established procedures.
  • Report environmental incidents and assist with corrective actions to minimise adverse impacts.

Emergency Preparedness & Safety Monitoring

  • Support the implementation of emergency response procedures and site emergency preparedness plans.
  • Participate in emergency drills and help ensure personnel understand evacuation procedures and emergency reporting protocols.
  • Monitor compliance with permit-to-work procedures and additional controls for high-risk activities, where applicable.
  • Identify deficiencies in emergency equipment, safety signage, access routes, and other essential safety provisions.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and relevant teams to address immediate safety concerns.

  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing
