The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring architectural construction activities, inspecting finishes, coordinating with contractors and multidisciplinary teams, reviewing technical submissions, and resolving site-related design and execution issues. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on site supervision experience, and a thorough understanding of architectural detailing, construction methodologies, and Dubai authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Architectural Execution

  • Supervise day-to-day architectural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor the execution of architectural works, including blockwork, plastering, flooring, tiling, painting, ceilings, waterproofing, doors, windows, and other finishing activities.
  • Ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved construction details, material specifications, and project quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, dimensions, levels, alignments, and installation details.
  • Identify deviations from approved drawings and specifications and coordinate corrective actions with contractors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor site progress and ensure architectural activities are completed according to the approved project schedule.
  • Provide technical clarification to site teams regarding architectural drawings, details, and construction requirements.
  • Escalate significant design discrepancies, construction challenges, and quality concerns to the Resident Engineer or relevant project management team.

Quality Control & Architectural Finishes

  • Inspect architectural works at various stages of construction to ensure compliance with project specifications and approved samples.
  • Verify the quality of finishing materials, installation methods, and workmanship before recommending acceptance.
  • Review mock-ups, material samples, and finish schedules to ensure consistency with approved design requirements.
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, and incomplete works and coordinate their rectification with contractors.
  • Monitor snagging and de-snagging activities to ensure that outstanding architectural issues are resolved before handover.
  • Ensure that finished works meet the required aesthetic, functional, durability, and quality standards.
  • Maintain inspection records and prepare reports documenting quality observations, non-conformities, and corrective actions.

Drawing Review & Technical Coordination

  • Review architectural shop drawings, construction drawings, material submittals, and technical documents for compliance with approved design intent.
  • Verify that architectural works are executed in accordance with the latest approved drawings and revisions.
  • Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), interior design, and other project disciplines to resolve interface issues.
  • Identify clashes, inconsistencies, and constructability concerns between architectural and other engineering drawings.
  • Review requests for information (RFIs) and provide technical recommendations or coordinate responses with the design team.
  • Evaluate proposed site changes and material substitutions against project specifications and design requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of drawing revisions, site instructions, technical clarifications, and approved changes.

Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution of architectural works.
  • Attend site coordination meetings and provide updates on architectural progress, quality issues, technical concerns, and pending approvals.
  • Follow up on contractor submissions, inspection requests, method statements, and material approvals relevant to architectural works.
  • Communicate site observations and required corrective actions clearly to contractors and responsible stakeholders.
  • Monitor contractor performance in relation to architectural quality, workmanship, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Resident Engineer and other site supervision personnel to address construction challenges and minimise delays.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues that may affect project timelines, quality, or coordination between disciplines.

Compliance & Authority Requirements

  • Ensure architectural works comply with applicable Dubai building regulations, approved project documentation, and relevant authority requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable requirements of Dubai Municipality, Dubai Development Authority, Trakhees, Nakheel, and other relevant authorities, as applicable to the project.
  • Support inspections and technical reviews required for project approvals and regulatory compliance.
  • Verify that site execution aligns with approved architectural layouts, specifications, and authority-approved drawings.
  • Coordinate the resolution of authority comments and architectural compliance issues with the relevant design and project teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support inspections, approvals, and project handover requirements.

Site Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor the progress of architectural works against project milestones and approved construction schedules.
  • Prepare daily site reports, inspection records, progress updates, and observations related to architectural activities.
  • Highlight delays, material shortages, workmanship concerns, and technical issues that could affect project delivery.
  • Follow up on outstanding inspections, pending approvals, site instructions, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of completed works, rejected items, non-conformities, and contractor responses.
  • Provide regular updates to the Resident Engineer or project management team on site progress and architectural quality.
  • Support project documentation and handover processes by ensuring that relevant records are complete and properly maintained.

Health, Safety & Site Compliance

  • Monitor compliance with applicable site health and safety procedures during architectural construction activities.
  • Identify unsafe working conditions and communicate concerns to the contractor and responsible HSE personnel.
  • Ensure architectural activities are coordinated with other site operations to minimise safety risks and work disruptions.
  • Report site incidents, unsafe practices, and potential hazards in accordance with project procedures.
  • Support a safe and organised construction environment through regular site monitoring and coordination.

Snagging, Handover & Close-Out

  • Conduct architectural inspections during pre-handover and final completion stages.
  • Prepare and monitor snag lists covering finishes, fixtures, fittings, and other architectural elements.
  • Verify that identified defects are rectified in accordance with approved specifications and quality requirements.
  • Review as-built architectural drawings and relevant close-out documentation, where required.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project teams to ensure completion of outstanding architectural works.
  • Support final inspections, handover activities, and the preparation of architectural completion records.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
