Location: Sri Lanka

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Key Account Representative – Energy Logistics to manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations for international energy sector customers.

This role involves coordinating air, sea, and road freight shipments, managing import, export, and domestic transportation requirements, handling customs-related processes, and ensuring seamless service delivery for international customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete shipment lifecycle while maintaining high service standards, operational accuracy, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Freight Forwarding Operations

  • Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations across air, sea, and road freight.
  • Handle import, export, and domestic shipments within the energy logistics sector.
  • Coordinate bookings, shipment planning, cargo movements, and delivery arrangements.
  • Ensure shipments are executed accurately and within agreed timelines.

Shipment Coordination & Documentation

  • Coordinate pre-alerts, shipping documentation, customs clearance activities, and final delivery requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is prepared accurately and submitted on time.
  • Monitor shipment progress throughout the transport lifecycle.
  • Manage shipment files from job opening through invoicing and final closure.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

  • Proactively update customers regarding shipment status, key milestones, and delivery progress.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with international customers.
  • Liaise effectively with overseas agents, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Respond promptly to operational queries and customer inquiries.

Operational Excellence

  • Resolve operational issues, service disruptions, and customer complaints efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable logistics regulations and internal operating procedures.
  • Support and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance operational consistency.
  • Coordinate closely with international freight teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

Billing & File Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing in line with established KPIs.
  • Monitor shipment file completion and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Ensure all shipment files are updated, documented, and closed correctly.

Requirements

  • Higher-level qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Freight Forwarding, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within logistics operations or freight forwarding.
  • Proven hands-on experience handling: Air Freight Sea Freight Road Freight Import & Export Operations
  • Strong understanding of customs procedures and international logistics operations.
  • Knowledge of energy logistics operations will be a significant advantage.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Knowledge of Dutch will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience using logistics management and freight forwarding systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and time-sensitive operational environment.
