Location: Sri Lanka Employment Type: Full Time Industry: Food Ingredients Manufacturing & Distribution

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically strong SAP Business One Specialist to lead SAP Business One administration, automation, integrations, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives across a growing international manufacturing and distribution business. This is a critical role supporting operations across Sri Lanka, the UK, and Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing SAP Business One environments, driving business process automation, supporting multi-country rollouts, overseeing complex integrations, and delivering high-level business intelligence reporting. We are specifically looking for a specialist who possesses strong SAP Business One technical expertise together with hands-on experience in BPA Platform (formerly TaskCentre), SQL Server, SAP HANA, manufacturing process support, and ERP optimization.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Business One Administration & Business Support

  • Manage day-to-day SAP Business One administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Support users across Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, Production, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Provide technical and functional support to local and international business users.
  • Maintain system integrity, master data accuracy, and ERP performance.
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, go-live activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with UK and European stakeholders to ensure effective ERP utilization.

BPA Platform (TaskCentre) Administration & Workflow Automation

  • Administer and maintain BPA Platform (formerly TaskCentre) environments.
  • Create, manage, and optimize BPA workflows, automations, alerts, notifications, and scheduled tasks.
  • Develop automated business processes supporting sales invoicing, stock transactions, reporting, and document workflows.
  • Build and support automations such as SAP-to-CSV exports, Google Drive integrations, document generation, workflow routing, and business process automation.
  • Troubleshoot BPA Platform workflows and improve automation reliability and efficiency.
  • Drive workflow simplification and process optimization through automation initiatives.

SAP Business Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop advanced reports, dashboards, and management information systems to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Create and maintain complex business analysis reports including:Sales performance analysis Purchase analysis Inventory movement reporting Warehouse performance reporting Landed cost analysis Sales commission calculations Batch-level traceability reporting Financial and profitability reporting
  • Support management reporting requirements across multiple business functions.
  • Develop and maintain Crystal Reports and advanced reporting solutions.
  • Utilize Power BI or similar analytical tools where appropriate.

SQL Server & SAP HANA Development

  • Develop and maintain SQL Server databases supporting SAP Business One environments.
  • Create and optimize SQL Views, Stored Procedures, Functions, Queries, and Staging Tables.
  • Support data transformation, reporting, integrations, and data migration requirements.
  • Work with SAP HANA environments and support migration, optimization, and reporting initiatives.
  • Analyze database structures and optimize performance for reporting and operational efficiency.

SAP Functional Support

  • Support SAP Business One Financial modules, including accounting, costing, and financial reporting.
  • Support Purchasing and Supplier Management operations.
  • Support Inventory and Warehouse Management processes, including lot and batch traceability.
  • Support Production Planning, MRP, Bills of Materials, formulation management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Support multi-currency environments, intercompany transactions, and international operations.
  • Provide expertise on batch-controlled manufacturing and ingredient-based operations.

System Integration & Implementation

  • Support integrations between SAP Business One and various business systems including:CRM Platforms E-commerce Platforms Banking Systems LIMS Systems Warehouse Management Systems 3PL Platforms
  • Support integrations through SAP DI-API, Service Layer, middleware, and BPA Platform.
  • Participate in system implementation, testing, data migration, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Work with external SAP consultants and implementation partners to deliver projects successfully.

SAP Rollouts & International Projects

  • Support SAP Business One implementations and go-live activities across multiple countries.
  • Participate in blueprint workshops, requirements gathering, system configuration, testing, training, and hypercare support.
  • Support localization requirements including tax structures, statutory reporting, and business-specific operational requirements.
  • Assist with new country deployments and business expansion projects.
  • Ensure successful adoption and operational continuity during implementation phases.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on SAP Business One experience.
  • Strong experience implementing, configuring, supporting, and optimizing SAP Business One environments.
  • Advanced expertise in SAP Business One SQL and SAP HANA.
  • Mandatory experience with BPA Platform (formerly TaskCentre).
  • Hands-on experience building workflows, automations, scheduled tasks, document routing, notifications, and integrations using BPA Platform.
  • Strong SQL Server expertise including:Views Stored Procedures Functions Staging Tables Advanced Query Development
  • Strong Crystal Reports experience.
  • Experience supporting system integrations and data migration activities.
  • Experience with SAP DI-API and Service Layer integrations.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing ERP processes.
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing, Food Ingredients, Nutraceuticals, FMCG Manufacturing, or Distribution sectors will be highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of:Batch traceability Lot tracking FEFO principles Shelf-life management Recipe and formulation management Regulatory compliance processes
  • Experience working in multi-site, multi-company, and international environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work directly with UK and European stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
