WE ARE HIRING: Senior Finance Executive

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: Onsite

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Finance Executive to support key finance operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, reconciliations, receivables management, banking operations, and compliance activities.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting management decision-making, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and coordinating with key stakeholders including banks, auditors, tax consultants, and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Receivables Management

  • Prepare accurate monthly invoices and ensure timely submission to clients.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Support collection activities to ensure healthy cash flow and timely settlements.
  • Maintain accurate customer billing and collection records.

Budgeting & Financial Planning

  • Prepare monthly budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and identify variances.
  • Present budget performance, financial trends, and variance analyses to management.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.

Bookkeeping & Financial Records

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Ensure proper filing and organization of financial documentation.
  • Maintain audit-ready records and supporting documents at all times.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Cash & Banking Operations

  • Manage petty cash transactions and perform regular reconciliations.
  • Process bank transfers, payments, and other banking transactions.
  • Ensure proper authorization and documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Monitor banking activities and support cash management requirements.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare month-end financial reports and reconciliations within agreed deadlines.
  • Process closing entries and maintain accurate account balances.
  • Support management reporting requirements.
  • Assist with financial analysis and reporting initiatives.

Compliance & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate with banks, external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Provide financial information and documentation as required during audits and reviews.
  • Support the implementation of financial controls and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Experience in billing, receivables management, banking operations, and payment processing.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Candidates with a notice period of 2 weeks or less will be preferred.

Preferred Profile

  • Female candidates are preferred.
  • Experience in a dynamic corporate or BPO environment will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
