About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer – OpenText ECM (OTCS / OTMM) to design, develop, and enhance enterprise content management solutions within a fast-paced and innovative engineering environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building scalable content management platforms, developing integrations, supporting platform operations, and delivering secure, high-performing enterprise solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices while collaborating with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise content management solutions using OpenText Content Server (OTCS) and OpenText Media Management (OTMM).
  • Build integrations and services that expose OpenText capabilities through REST APIs and middleware.
  • Configure and customize OTCS components, including categories, attributes, permissions, workflows, WebReports, and records management.
  • Configure and manage OTMM metadata models, asset ingestion processes, renditions, and search capabilities.
  • Support platform operations, including upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Develop document and image processing pipelines for ingestion, transformation, metadata enrichment, and extraction.
  • Implement scalable, secure, and highly available enterprise solutions.
  • Follow CI/CD practices and software engineering best practices to maintain high code quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and post-production support.
  • Contribute to continuous platform improvements and technical innovation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of software development experience within Agile environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenText Content Server (OTCS), including configuration, customization, workflows, WebReports, Smart View, OScript, and REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenText Media Management (OTMM), including asset ingestion, metadata schemas, renditions, transcoding, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) concepts, including document lifecycle management, metadata modeling, versioning, access control, retention, and records management.
  • Experience administering and supporting OpenText platforms, including installations, upgrades, patching, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Practical development experience using Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar modern programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, clean coding practices, testing methodologies, code reviews, and Git.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and SQL.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, infrastructure as code, and monitoring.
  • Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with Terraform will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure to AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar solutions.
  • Familiarity with OCR, document processing, image processing, data extraction, and AI-driven metadata generation will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure to OpenText Extended ECM (xECM), Archive Center, or OpenText Cloud offerings will be considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
