It is well suited to a seasoned bankruptcy professional who brings strong judgment, communication skills, and deep restructuring expertise.

Accountabilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate restructuring plans, forbearance agreements, financing documents, purchase agreements, and other bankruptcy and restructuring documentation.
  • Advise clients on Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, insolvency matters, financial restructurings, and related legal risks.
  • Represent and advise clients throughout bankruptcy cases, distressed transactions, workouts, and other restructuring engagements.
  • Collaborate with clients, business teams, outside counsel, and other stakeholders to develop and execute effective restructuring strategies.
  • Manage legal matters involving distressed businesses, debt obligations, claims, asset sales, and related financial transactions.
  • Evaluate complex legal and commercial issues and provide practical recommendations aligned with client objectives.
  • Monitor developments in bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring law and incorporate relevant changes into client advice and legal strategies.
  • Support negotiations and strategic decision-making throughout restructuring proceedings and transactions.
  • Maintain a strong focus on clear communication, timely execution, and commercially practical outcomes.
  • 10+ years of experience practicing bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or a closely related area of law.
  • Deep knowledge of Chapter 11 proceedings, creditor rights, insolvency principles, and restructuring processes.
  • Demonstrated experience advising clients on bankruptcy matters, financial workouts, distressed transactions, or complex restructuring situations.
  • Experience representing one or more key restructuring stakeholders, such as debtors, creditors, lenders, committees, or other parties in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Experience with out-of-court restructurings, distressed debt, debtor-in-possession financing, asset sales, plan confirmation, or related transactions is preferred.
  • Juris Doctor degree and active authorization to practice law in an applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Excellent legal drafting, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to assess complex situations, identify legal and commercial risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Comfort using technology and legal tools to manage matters efficiently and collaborate in a modern, flexible working environment.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with clients, legal teams, business stakeholders, and external counsel.
  • Estimated total compensation for full-time attorney roles ranging from $104,500 to $325,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Flexible work arrangements, including a remote-friendly environment.
  • Professional development opportunities and access to relevant tools and resources.
  • Opportunities to work on sophisticated bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring matters across diverse industries.
  • Exposure to complex legal projects and high-caliber clients, supporting continued professional growth.
  • An inclusive and collaborative environment committed to equal employment opportunity.
  • Reasonable accommodations available throughout the recruitment process for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
