As a Value Management & Financial Operations Lead, you will play a key role in optimizing financial performance and maximizing the value of strategic investments across a complex portfolio of initiatives. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and investment evaluation while helping leadership make informed, data-driven decisions. Working closely with business, technology, finance, and operational teams, you will develop business cases and quantify the expected impact of strategic initiatives. You will also establish robust frameworks for tracking financial performance and measuring realized business value. This role offers the opportunity to influence portfolio priorities, strengthen financial governance, and drive continuous improvement in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position is fully remote, with core working hours aligned to the Eastern Time zone and occasional travel for meetings or training.
Accountabilities
- Lead financial operations across a portfolio of initiatives, overseeing operational budgets, financial planning, forecasting, invoicing, and expenditure tracking.
- Develop and maintain portfolio-level financial reports, performance scorecards, and analytical dashboards to provide clear visibility into spending, forecast accuracy, and investment outcomes.
- Partner with business, finance, technology, and operational leaders to develop business cases, assess investment opportunities, and formulate strategic funding recommendations.
- Identify, quantify, and monitor the expected financial and operational value of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment between investment commitments and anticipated business outcomes.
- Establish and improve processes for measuring benefits realization, tracking expected versus actual results, and reporting on value delivered.
- Support portfolio governance activities, including investment prioritization, funding reviews, financial evaluations, and strategic resource allocation.
- Analyze financial and operational performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions to improve efficiency and maximize returns.
- Communicate portfolio performance, investment assessments, financial forecasts, and realized value to senior leadership and key stakeholders through clear, actionable presentations.
- Exercise independent judgment when addressing complex financial and operational challenges, ensuring financial decisions support broader organizational priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial operations, value management frameworks, reporting processes, and portfolio oversight practices.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, operations, or a related field, or at least seven years of relevant experience in healthcare, finance, operations, strategy, or portfolio management.
- Five or more years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, or business operations.
- Demonstrated experience developing business cases, evaluating investment opportunities, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
- Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate financial and operational performance metrics to guide business decisions.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives and coordinating stakeholders across business, technology, finance, and operational teams.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling, data analysis, and executive-level presentation development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex financial information into practical recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations confidently to senior leadership.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
- Experience supporting large-scale healthcare, technology, or business transformation portfolios.
- Background in value management, portfolio management, or benefits realization, including measuring and reporting on the outcomes of strategic investments.
- Experience preparing executive-level presentations, financial analyses, and recommendations for leadership reviews.
- Familiarity with healthcare payer operations, Stars programs, risk adjustment, clinical data exchange, or technology portfolios.
- An MBA, CPA, PMP, or comparable advanced degree or professional certification.
- Ability to work remotely from a dedicated, interruption-free workspace that safeguards confidential and protected health information.
- Reliable internet connectivity with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
- Availability to work primarily during Eastern Time business hours, with some flexibility depending on location and operational needs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to designated offices for meetings, training, and collaboration.
- Competitive annual salary: $115,200–$158,400, depending on experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
