The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Catalog Project Engineer based in United States.

As a Catalog Project Engineer, you will play a key technical role in developing, deploying, and maintaining photo product catalogs for a global eCommerce environment. You will work across product information, digital assets, workflow systems, databases, APIs, and automation to keep catalog operations reliable and efficient. The role combines software development, data engineering, system integration, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical execution. You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to translate catalog requirements into robust technical solutions. Your work will directly support accurate product information, seamless catalog publishing, and a consistent customer experience across digital retail channels. You will also identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality, and optimize catalog workflows. This is an opportunity for a technically strong engineer to contribute to a global digital commerce environment while working with modern PIM, DAM, API, and workflow technologies.

Accountabilities

  • Develop, maintain, and deploy photo product catalogs using SQL, scripting, and PIM/DAM workflows.
  • Write, test, and optimize complex SQL queries to retrieve, transform, validate, and load catalog data from multiple source systems.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash to streamline catalog processing, validation, and deployment.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, software developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand catalog requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues related to catalog ingestion, publishing, system connectivity, and data consistency.
  • Implement and support catalog deployment pipelines to enable timely, accurate, and reliable product catalog releases.
  • Monitor catalog data quality metrics and investigate inconsistencies, errors, and data-integrity issues.
  • Document catalog data models, workflows, technical processes, and deployment procedures in appropriate repositories.
  • Perform hands-on testing and validation of catalog features, enhancements, and updates throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Interpret API documentation and integrate catalog systems with related software platforms through RESTful APIs.
  • Identify workflow bottlenecks and opportunities for process improvement, recommending and implementing technical solutions.
  • Automate repetitive manual activities to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability across catalog operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience involving complex data systems, eCommerce platforms, or comparable technical environments.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, data manipulation, and data transformation.
  • Strong scripting capabilities in languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, with experience developing automation solutions.
  • Practical experience working directly with Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), or catalog management systems.
  • Solid understanding of API integration and experience consuming or producing RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with hybrid Agile/Waterfall software development methodologies and delivery environments.
  • Experience with collaboration and issue-tracking platforms such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly when diagnosing complex data, integration, and system issues.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies, requirements, and technical environments.
  • Experience with photofinishing and printing industry workflows is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with Akeneo PIM, Bynder DAM, Workato, or comparable PIM, DAM, and workflow automation platforms is an asset.
  • Experience writing and maintaining JavaScript for catalog enhancements or system integrations is an asset.
  • Compensation of up to $124,545, depending on experience.
  • Medical insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid time off.
  • Remote work opportunity.
  • Flexible work environment.
  • Opportunity to contribute to global eCommerce and digital product catalog initiatives.
  • Exposure to PIM, DAM, workflow automation, API integration, data engineering, and software development technologies.
  • Collaborative environment with opportunities to work across technical, creative, and product teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
