  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to customer representatives on equipment installation, operation, calibration, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and installation walk-downs to verify that work performed by customer contractors meets technical specifications and quality expectations.
  • Execute aftermarket upgrades and equipment modifications at customer sites, ensuring that all changes are properly reviewed, documented, and approved.
  • Maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring that all field activities comply with established safety procedures, technical standards, and site requirements.
  • Verify that the required parts, tools, and materials are available and delivered to the worksite in time to support planned activities.
  • Prepare accurate and timely technical reports, job status updates, customer documentation, material requests, quotations, timesheets, and expense reports.
  • Coordinate with customers and internal stakeholders to communicate progress, address technical concerns, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Apply knowledge of equipment from different generations to diagnose faults and perform routine maintenance checks across a broad range of turbine systems.
  • Coach, mentor, and train other field service team members, sharing technical knowledge and supporting the development of field engineering capabilities.
  • Support project execution through effective resource management, short-term planning, problem-solving, and timely decision-making at customer facilities.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and extended assignments as required by operational needs.
  • Travel extensively to customer facilities and project locations to support field assignments across the designated service territory.
  • A technical or university degree, or equivalent qualifying experience. Alternatively, a high school diploma or GED combined with at least four years of experience in a field services role.
  • At least seven years of experience in field services, power generation equipment maintenance, or a closely related technical position.
  • Successful completion of the required Level III training programs, which is a minimum qualification for the role.
  • Strong mechanical and technical expertise in gas and steam turbine systems, power generation equipment, and field maintenance operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams, flow diagrams, and instrumentation documentation.
  • Practical knowledge of dial and laser alignment techniques and thermal growth considerations when working with rotating equipment.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex equipment issues independently within established technical and safety parameters.
  • Experience coordinating field activities, overseeing work execution, and guiding technical teams at customer sites.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety requirements, quality standards, maintenance procedures, and contractual service obligations.
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate documentation on time.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including travel to and from project sites, and to work weekends, holidays, or overtime when required.
  • Experience with Alstom, Siemens, or other original equipment manufacturer (OEM) turbine equipment is an asset.
  • Extensive field engineering services experience and familiarity with a broad range of equipment generations are strong advantages.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs and communicate the value of relevant products and services are desirable.
  • Employment type: Full-time position.
  • Work arrangement: Remote position, with extensive travel to customer facilities and project sites required.
  • Relocation assistance: Not provided.
  • Professional development: Opportunity to apply advanced technical expertise and support the training and mentoring of other field service professionals.

  • Leadership opportunities: Responsibility for coordinating field activities, guiding technical teams, and supporting customer relationships.
  • Industry impact: Opportunity to contribute to reliable power generation and support the development of a more sustainable energy future.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
