The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Finance Manager, Marketplace based in Canada.

We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded finance professional to lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a global e-commerce marketplace. In this role, you will take ownership of the marketplace profit and loss (P&L), develop sophisticated predictive models, and translate complex financial and customer data into actionable business insights. Working at the intersection of Finance, Business Intelligence, Customer Success, Merchandising, and Product, you will help identify growth opportunities, optimize margins, and strengthen revenue forecasting. You will also influence strategic decisions by connecting customer purchasing behavior, marketplace activity, and financial performance. This is an opportunity to shape financial strategy, build scalable analytics capabilities, and contribute directly to sustainable business growth in a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Marketplace Financial Management: Own the end-to-end marketplace P&L, including revenue, expenses, and net margin performance. Analyze financial results, identify cost efficiencies, and recommend actions to improve profitability and resource allocation.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Develop and maintain dynamic forecasting models covering revenue, redemption volumes, promotions, pricing, merchandising, and product enhancements. Translate strategic targets into actionable operating plans at the customer-segment level and prepare forecasting materials for executive and board-level reporting.
  • Customer Revenue & Retention Analytics: Forecast existing customer annual recurring revenue (ARR) to support net revenue retention (NRR) objectives. Integrate financial, customer segmentation, and redemption data to identify expansion opportunities, assess customer behavior, and develop share-of-wallet models.
  • Strategic Analysis & Predictive Modeling: Apply statistical analysis and predictive modeling to understand redemption activity, customer purchasing behavior, margin trends, and potential business outcomes. Develop scenario analyses, mix-rate reporting, member balance distribution models, and forecasts that support informed strategic decisions.
  • Performance Reporting & Data Infrastructure: Build and maintain dashboards, KPI scorecards, and executive reporting for marketplace performance, promotions, rebates, and commissions. Establish consistent data workflows, documentation standards, governance practices, and quality controls to improve analytical reliability and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Business Partnership: Collaborate with Customer Success, Merchandising, Product, Accounting, Business Intelligence, and IT teams to align financial insights with business priorities. Support customer growth initiatives, assortment optimization, product roadmap decisions, pricing strategies, and supplier performance reviews.
  • Commercial & Operational Support: Provide financial analysis for RFPs, promotional campaigns, product features, partnerships, and return-on-investment assessments. Respond to emerging leadership questions and improve forecasting accuracy during seasonal peaks and periods of fluctuating redemption demand.
  • Strategic Influence & Execution: Proactively identify high-impact opportunities, translate financial insights into clear recommendations, and drive initiatives from concept through execution. Ensure teams have the models, reporting, and customer-level plans needed to achieve financial and operational objectives.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: At least five years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), strategic analytics, or a comparable role within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of P&L management, margin analysis, revenue forecasting, financial modeling, and business performance measurement.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting methodologies, and complex data interpretation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills, including macros, arrays, pivot tables, lookups, and conditional logic. Proficiency with SQL and data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Communication & Business Acumen: Ability to translate complex financial and analytical findings into clear, compelling recommendations and executive-ready presentations.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to influence stakeholders, collaborate across departments, and drive business outcomes without direct managerial authority.
  • Initiative & Problem-Solving: A proactive, independent, and solution-oriented mindset, with strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize high-impact opportunities.
  • Preferred Industry Experience: Experience in e-commerce, retail, rewards, or marketplace businesses, particularly involving redemption dynamics, catalog economics, and customer purchasing behavior.
  • Additional Preferred Skills: Familiarity with NRR and ARR forecasting, customer retention analytics, Salesforce reporting and dashboards, and AI-enabled analytics tools such as Tableau Pulse or Microsoft Copilot.
  • Salary Range: CAD $106,000–$125,000 per year. The final offer depends on skills, experience, relevant certifications, and other role-related factors.
  • Employment Type: Permanent, full-time position.
  • Work Arrangement: Remote position listed for Canada, with hybrid flexibility and access to an office in Liberty Village, Toronto.
  • Health & Insurance: Health benefits and life insurance coverage beginning on the first day of employment.
  • Retirement Savings: Employer-matched Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) contributions.
  • Family Support: Parental leave top-up.
  • Time Off: Flexible vacation to support rest and work-life balance.
  • Employee Assistance: Employee and Family Assistance Program offering mental health, legal, and financial counselling.
  • Recognition & Rewards: Employee recognition and rewards programs that celebrate contributions and impact.
  • Professional Development: Access to learning resources, mentorship, and career growth opportunities, including LinkedIn Learning.
  • Inclusion & Belonging: Employee-led resource groups and regular events designed to encourage connection, inclusion, and well-being.
  • Compensation Reviews: Regular compensation reviews, at least annually, based on performance and impact.
  • Inclusive Recruitment: A commitment to equal opportunity and accessibility, with accommodations available during the recruitment process.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
