The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager, Financial Data based in Canada.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity focused on bringing complex financial data products from concept through launch. You’ll lead the integration of major new data capabilities into a sophisticated market intelligence platform used by enterprise professionals. The role combines product strategy, financial data expertise, customer insight, and cross-functional execution across multiple teams. You’ll work closely with investment research and capital markets experts to understand workflows, validate hypotheses, and identify high-value opportunities. As a key bridge between users and technical teams, you’ll translate sophisticated analytical needs into scalable data solutions and compelling product experiences. You’ll also mentor product managers, influence product direction, and help establish repeatable approaches for launching zero-to-one data products.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for major financial data initiatives, from initial data analysis and discovery through launch and ongoing evolution.
  • Establish product frameworks, user stories, milestones, roadmaps, and priorities while supporting product managers in developing detailed product requirements.
  • Partner with internal experts in capital markets and investment research to understand user workflows, identify pain points, validate product hypotheses, and inform prioritization.
  • Serve as a key bridge between complex financial workflows and technical execution, translating sophisticated analytical requirements into robust data architectures and product solutions.
  • Collaborate with platform teams across web, Excel, AI, and other product areas to ensure financial data is delivered consistently and effectively across user experiences.
  • Partner with senior leaders to coordinate resources, monitor milestones, report progress, and manage execution across two major product initiatives.
  • Articulate core customer problems and work with engineering teams to evaluate solutions based on customer feedback, strategic priorities, market dynamics, and technical feasibility.
  • Engage directly with customers to understand workflows and pain points, gathering and documenting actionable feedback that informs product decisions.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitive offerings, and relevant financial data products to identify emerging opportunities and inform product and content strategy.
  • Mentor and coach product managers in partnership with team leadership, supporting professional development, functional excellence, and high-performing product teams.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across product, engineering, research, and other cross-functional stakeholders to build alignment and drive execution.
  • 12+ years of product management experience, including several years in fintech, investment research, financial services, or a closely related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex products involving multiple teams, dependencies, priorities, and technical considerations.
  • Strong product judgment, with the ability to make difficult tradeoffs, sequence development effectively, and deliver value within demanding timelines.
  • Strong understanding of financial data and user workflows related to areas such as investment research, quantitative analysis, M&A, or capital markets.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build alignment across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a structured approach to managing complex initiatives.
  • Experience using tools such as Notion and Linear.
  • Comfort working with complex datasets and using SQL, LLMs, or similar tools to investigate data, audit quality, and translate technical findings into user value is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related discipline is preferred; an MBA or CFA designation is an asset.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching product managers and contributing to the development of strong product teams.
  • Ability to combine customer research, market analysis, technical feasibility, and business priorities when shaping product strategy.
  • Base compensation range of $170,000–$200,000 CAD.
  • Potential eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
  • Equity opportunities.
  • Comprehensive benefits program.
  • Remote work opportunity within Canada.
  • Opportunity to work on sophisticated financial data and AI-enabled products serving enterprise users.
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment spanning product, engineering, financial research, data, and AI disciplines.
  • Equal opportunity workplace committed to an inclusive and respectful environment.
  • Reasonable workplace accommodations available in accordance with applicable requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
