The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Designer - Communications based in Canada.

This is an opportunity to shape digital communication experiences that help clinics and patients stay connected between appointments. You’ll design thoughtful, polished interactions across text messaging, secure messaging, and staff notifications. The role combines strong design craft with customer research, product thinking, and close collaboration with developers. You’ll own smaller projects from early problem definition through launch, with mentorship and room to grow toward a senior-level role. You’ll also help strengthen consistency across communication experiences by working within and championing an established design system. The team values psychological safety, curiosity, customer closeness, pragmatic decision-making, and a high standard of craft. This remote role is ideal for a product designer who enjoys meaningful problems, close collaboration, and creating experiences that feel both useful and human.

Accountabilities:

  • Design polished, intuitive communication experiences across text messaging, secure messaging, staff notifications, and related product surfaces.
  • Own smaller product design projects end to end, from understanding customer and business problems through prototyping, iteration, and launch.
  • Bring strong interaction design and visual craft to product experiences, paying close attention to states, transitions, microinteractions, and meaningful details.
  • Work closely with developers throughout the development process to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively.
  • Use and champion the design system to create consistent, familiar experiences across communication workflows and product surfaces.
  • Participate in customer research sessions and translate customer feedback and insights into sharper concepts, prototypes, and product solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, designers, developers, and go-to-market partners to align customer needs, product strategy, and execution.
  • Build strong relationships with designers in adjacent teams and contribute to a cohesive design practice.
  • Take ownership of work proactively, anticipating upcoming needs and identifying opportunities for improvement without waiting for formal assignments.
  • Incorporate AI thoughtfully and responsibly into the design process, using tools such as Claude Code to prototype quickly and increase design efficiency.
  • Contribute to a culture of high-quality design, open communication, psychological safety, continuous learning, and customer-focused decision-making.
  • At least 2 years of professional product design experience in a commercial environment, with experience shipping customer-facing features.
  • Solid understanding of how product teams operate and how design collaborates with Product Management and Engineering throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong interaction design and visual design skills, with an appreciation for detailed states, transitions, microinteractions, and polished user experiences.
  • Proficiency with Figma and experience working effectively within an established design system.
  • Comfort using AI-powered development and prototyping tools, such as Claude Code, as part of a modern design workflow.
  • Strong bias toward action, with the ability to anticipate needs, stay closely connected to teammates, and proactively take ownership.
  • Curiosity and confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions constructively, and contribute ideas regardless of seniority.
  • Openness to feedback and a growth-oriented mindset, with a willingness to continuously refine your craft.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, particularly when working closely with developers, product managers, researchers, and other designers.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in understanding user needs and translating them into practical, engaging experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment while building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication.
  • Candidates who do not meet every listed qualification but demonstrate strong potential and enthusiasm for the role are encouraged to apply.
  • Annual salary range of CAD $92,000–$138,000, reflecting the opportunity for compensation growth as skills, experience, and impact develop.
  • Typical starting salary of approximately CAD $109,300 for candidates joining at the accomplished level.
  • Transparent compensation structure with regular career development and compensation conversations.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Remote work opportunity within Canada.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and mentorship, including the potential to progress toward a senior design role.
  • A collaborative environment that emphasizes psychological safety, open communication, learning, and meaningful customer impact.
  • Opportunities to work on communication products that directly support healthcare clinics and their patients.
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle, from customer research and early concepts through development, launch, and go-to-market.
  • Opportunity to use modern AI tools to enhance prototyping, exploration, and design workflows.
  • An inclusive, growth-oriented culture that values adaptability, resilience, curiosity, humility, and continuous improvement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
