The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Owner based in Canada.

This is a senior product delivery role spanning interconnected Billing and Data platform environments within a remote-first engineering organization. You’ll take deep ownership of the features your teams build, from defining requirements and user stories through testing, release, and stakeholder communication. The role combines hands-on product ownership with technical depth across billing platforms, cloud data pipelines, and data transformation. You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Data, and other cross-functional teams to translate complex needs into clear, executable solutions. Your expertise will help ensure platform integrity, data accuracy, scalable delivery, and alignment with broader product strategy. The position also offers meaningful influence across architecture, cross-team dependencies, and strategic platform decisions.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead delivery for Billing and Data teams by managing backlogs, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and ensuring work is clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for engineering execution.
  • Write detailed feature epics and user stories with precise acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including writing and executing SQL queries in BigQuery to validate data accuracy, transformation logic, and pipeline outputs.
  • Coordinate release planning, prepare release notes, and manage internal rollout communications.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners to manage cross-team dependencies and sequencing across shared initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Managers to align tactical execution with product strategy, vision, and stakeholder priorities.
  • Work with Engineering Managers to incorporate resource capacity and technical guidance into backlog planning and delivery decisions.
  • Partner with Program Management to support cross-functional coordination and organizational visibility.
  • Define and validate MVPs that deliver incremental value while supporting strategic goals.
  • Provide product training and enablement for customer-facing teams, support teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and executives regarding upcoming work, progress, priorities, and timelines.
  • Develop deep knowledge of billing platforms, including their architectures, business rules, interdependencies, and use across different merchant and partner segments.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for billing-related feature questions across engineering, finance, and operations.
  • Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to ensure billing operations are compliant, auditable, and accurately integrated with key systems.
  • Identify platform-level risks, technical debt, and opportunities for consolidation alongside engineering leadership.
  • Develop deep knowledge of data ingestion pipelines, transformation layers, and data artifact delivery across GCP and BigQuery.
  • Partner with data engineering to define and prioritize data models, views, and dashboards that support reporting needs.
  • Advocate for data governance, lineage, scalability, usability, and privacy-compliant data handling.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager, with demonstrated ownership of features in platform, infrastructure, or data-centric environments.
  • Proven ability to develop deep subject matter expertise across the products and features you own, including their technical foundations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow.
  • Ability to write and execute SQL queries against BigQuery for UAT and data validation.
  • Experience with Agile development frameworks and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
  • Proven experience conducting and managing UAT to validate product quality and stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience coordinating software releases, QA processes, documentation, and rollout activities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Passion for understanding end users and translating their needs into actionable product improvements.
  • Experience with financial systems, billing platforms, or accounting modules in a SaaS or fintech environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
  • Experience with data governance or privacy-compliant data handling, including GDPR or CCPA, is a plus.
  • Technical background, such as a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, is advantageous.
  • Competitive salary of $110,000–$125,000 CAD, depending on experience.
  • Additional bonus opportunity.
  • Remote-first culture.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 13 paid holidays.
  • Company volunteer days.
  • Opportunity to work across complex billing and data platforms in a high-impact product role.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams spanning Product, Engineering, Finance, Data, and Operations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
