The posting

At Nimber, we're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a challenging project within the investment banking sector, focused on Foreign Exchange (FX) electronic trading platforms.

You'll be part of an international IT team based in Porto and Paris, working closely with trading desks, sales teams and developers to support and enhance applications used in electronic FX trading.

This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong financial markets knowledge with a technical mindset, enjoys working directly with Front Office stakeholders and can independently drive solutions from business requirements through to implementation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work closely with FX traders and sales teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather, analyse and translate business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Support the evolution of electronic FX trading platforms, including order execution systems, market-making solutions, market-taking aggregators and single-bank platforms.
  • Manage enhancement requests independently, coordinating with developers and business stakeholders.
  • Investigate technical issues using SQL queries, Unix commands and application logs.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot incidents and identify effective solutions.
  • Contribute to testing, validation and implementation of new functionalities.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and promote continuous improvement within the team.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst within financial markets or investment banking.
  • Good understanding of financial market participants, trading processes and financial products.
  • Knowledge of Forex (FX) products and/or electronic trading environments.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis and technical investigations.
  • Practical knowledge of Unix/Linux, including log analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both Front Office stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Experience managing requirements and delivering solutions independently.
  • An Agile mindset, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python scripting for automation or technical analysis.
  • Previous exposure to electronic trading platforms, order management or execution systems.
  • Knowledge of FX market-making and market-taking processes.
  • Experience working in international, cross-functional teams.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
