You'll work in a multi-database environment, primarily Microsoft SQL Server, with exposure to Sybase, ensuring the performance, security and availability of business-critical systems.

This role combines hands-on database administration, performance optimisation, automation and infrastructure modernisation, with opportunities to contribute to cloud initiatives and emerging database technologies.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage database infrastructure upgrades, migrations and platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain T-SQL and PowerShell scripts for automation, administration and operational improvements.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks and implement optimisation strategies.
  • Implement and maintain high availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups and Transactional Replication.
  • Support development teams with SQL query optimisation, stored procedures and database modelling.
  • Monitor production databases, investigate incidents and participate in critical incident resolution.
  • Manage database changes, production deployments and release activities.
  • Administer and optimise Microsoft BI technologies, including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI Report Server.
  • Perform database audits, maintenance activities and security compliance checks.
  • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.
  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Participate in database projects involving Azure, AWS and GCP.
  • Explore new capabilities in SQL Server 2022/2025 and integrations with technologies such as PolyBase and Hadoop.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid professional experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration, particularly in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL and PowerShell scripting.
  • Proven experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting and query optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience with Always On Availability Groups and Transactional Replication.
  • Experience with SQL Server migrations, upgrades and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Good understanding of database architecture, networking, infrastructure and security.
  • Experience with database monitoring, incident management and production support.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft BI tools, including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI Report Server.
  • Familiarity with change management, release processes and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • English and French language skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience administering Sybase databases.
  • Exposure to cloud database services, particularly Microsoft Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server 2022/2025, PolyBase or Hadoop.
  • Experience with .NET development, C#, Angular or Rust, particularly for monitoring tools and internal platforms.
  • Previous experience in banking or other business-critical environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
